Sounds like he interviews well doesn't it? I recall when he came to us for interview he had a few PowerPoint slides with a forensic analysis of our squad which impressed our Board. I didn't appreciate he lost only 3 of his last 17 matches in charge at Stoke City, that wouldn't normally earn you the sack but expectations of a quick fire return will still high at that point, reality had not yet come crowding in. Anyway let's home Saturday ends once again with Nathan walking round the pitch at the New Den beating his chest like Tarzan  |

Supporters who go week in week out can recognise when things look promising, that never happened under Rowett. Jones's record is terrible but there hasn't really been a moment when the support has turned against him. It maybe false hope but I do think Jones can achieve things I could never see Rowett achieving. |

I never really liked the bloke, before his silly outburst I didn't like or dislike him, he was just 'grey', after his outburst I just thought he was a cock.
He's shown some humility since, good on him for that, he'd do well to maintain it and leave the arrogance well alone.
Football was nowt to shout about either.

Given the issues at the club I fully expected us to be bottom half and with less points than he would have got. Something which Jones then compounded. He failed because of the back stabbing from certain board members and sheer arrogance on big issues like Martina. His permanent signings on the whole were ok. The loans let him down. |

Strange what makes people likeable or unlikeable. Jones can sound very arrogant at times. I mean, imagine him if we were top of the table!!! Yet somehow, people have taken to his personality in a way that they never did with Rowett. The humility does sound sincere though, and I have no gripe against him. He cocked things up, but I honestly think we were in a much worse state than anyone imagined. He wasn’t a bad manager before he joined us, and I hope he uses the lessons learned to get his career back on track. |
