Pisser that he admitted his crossing is terrible and then he’s put dots on the penalty spot all season for Burnley. That said, fucking horrible defending for the Villa goal.

Celtic fans & reports tend to think he can & are hoping his move is made permanent saying aside from his assist yesterday his performance was commanding. Some people said Afobe couldn't score to save his life and what happened when he rocked up at Bristol City?! People said Pieters couldn't cross a ball and he's delivered a few telling crosses in his short spell at Burnley. Think players can be effective if used the correct way.. |

He has lots of energy and enthusiasm which is why the fans took to him. I've seen him have the odd poor game as a defender, Forest away in the League Cup last September. But I've also seen him play really well at right back especially in that first season so he definitely has it in him if played consistently in a structured formation. Surely playing for Celtic in Scotland and in the Europa league on thursday is a step up from the clash next tuesday to decide who is the worst team in the second tier of english football. I am sure Pieters and Bauer are delighted to be away from the Bet and playing back up to superstars like Tom Edwards and James McClean!

I seem to recollect that there were plenty on here giving stick to Pieters for his poor play in the time before he left, me included. I wasn't sad to see him go. The crime wasn't letting him go but not finding a suitable replacement for him.

I think almost everyone hoped we wouldn't lose him after relegation, we all thought he'd flourish in the Championship..... Turns out, we were wrong!!! He's playing in a league where most teams are the equivalent to our league one sides, and the only two top clubs (of which one he now players for), are the equivalent to the top teams in the Championship, possibly the lower teams in the Prem!!! It suits him, playing against lower standard opposition!!! |
