There weren’t mosh pits at Clash concerts - they were an American import after the Clash had packed in. I doubt you ever saw them live. And, if you think of punk rock as a working class movement providing a voice for the voiceless, you can see why Brexit has strong resonance with punk. Contempt you deserve. One more thing I dont lie I go to punk gigs and festivals to this day . No mosh pits. Ok . Brexit has nothing in connection with the punk ethos not one jot ffs. I watched the fascinating Vivienne Westwood programme a week or so back it sounded like she and Malcolm had a great time manufacturing and monetarising punk for the masses. Toyah was on the radio this week chatting about the scene and saying what a bright, intelligent lad Johnny Rotten was.

Good for you for going to punk gigs nowadays. But I don’t believe you’ve ever seen the Clash live. As to punk and Brexit, sadly we can’t get Strummer’s view which would have been interesting. I reckon he would have conflicted opinions. Like most folk. We do know, though, that John Lyndon is up for it. But he is (and always was) a bit of a prick. So, maybe not the best guide.

Thanks for that I’d almost forgot how the streets ran with milk and honey when labour ran the place You most probably have.Since when has this become normal life? The people are suffering and when someone says they want to help ,all you do is diss them ,brainwashed and manipulated. The point is, if you think things are bad now, they will get a lot worse with a Corbyn Government.

There’s nothing more anti-establishment than Brexit. You have led a sheltered life fella, get out more. So maybe Boris is a punk rocker.I wished id seen him down the mosh pit at The Clash gigs There weren’t mosh pits at Clash concerts - they were an American import after the Clash had packed in. I doubt you ever saw them live. And, if you think of punk rock as a working class movement providing a voice for the voiceless, you can see why Brexit has strong resonance with punk. Nevermind the mosh pit, I used to go watch the Jam as a kid & we were lucky get out alive. It used to proper go off at concerts like it did at football. Punk girls were regularly assaulted. Joris going on about the Clash reminds me of when Cameron said he loved Eton Riffles & Paul Weller said he hadn’t been paying attention.

The most violent concert I went to was a Jam concert - there were pitch battles everywhere. Nothing to do with the band though - just rival gangs kicking off. Politicians trying to be with it is just embarrassing. Even more when they clearly weren’t. Mind you Strummer did come from a privileged background so maybe Johnson finds some resonance there.

For those of you who don't understand economics and also government finances ! the government can print any amount of money that they so wish this will have some effects on the economy however with a devaluing of the pound. however there are plusses and minuses in this. by investing in infrastructure at low interest rates not only do you pump money into the economy you create what is called a multiplier effect can be 20 or more times the amount invested. quick explanation company 1 pays workers they spend in company 2 then 2 to 3 etc etc this is a way to grow an economy and create more income and jobs etc. we then have labours proposals 1 nationalise railways net cost 0 how will it be done? by not renewing contracts for individual companies like virgin, south west trains providing the services but taking it back in house the money that at the moment go's to these companies and there profits instead of going to shareholders will go to government for projects or to re invest in the railways 2 nationalisation of energy, water, etc this again allows profits to go back to the government this would service the debt and also start paying it back buying back the government bonds that would pay for the initial expenditure remember this is at the lowest rate and people are interested in buying these bonds on international markets again we have the multiplier effect in play and the stopping of profits going out of the business in forms of dividends and them either going to the government or to reinvest and the same as above. the setting up of a generic drugs company this would allow the government to produce drugs cheaper and stop the drugs being charged to the nhs a lot cheaper a lot of general drugs are out of patent and can be replicated cheaper just look at the branded or not drugs you get from the chemist. net benefit the nhs. investment in nhs, other public services see multiplier effect also think about the boost these things will do for the economy. we then look at another policy de centralising of department this has a few effects by regionalising them and moving department out of London you have a number of effects 1 stimulating local economies 2 putting money where it is needed and being more cost effective .3 making it cheaper to run If you look behind the basic headline figures you actually see that it is quite a forward thinking proposal that will have beneficial benefits for future generations not only in a better infrastructure that can generate additional revenue and stimulate an economy it could also have a benefit on things like fuel poverty and job creation and lets not forget that the money invested is not being squandered its gaining the government assets that create revenue that will more than cover the initial expenditure on the initial loans etc. Essex Why would any shareholder or maybe even your or my pension fund want there share portfolio replaced by what after five years of McDonnells stewardship would be worthless government bonds Or maybe you just believe the labour government should compulsory nationalises the utility’s Stealing millions off the citizens of this couny C'mon wag, leave him alone, this is comedy gold !! I loving getting my daily dose of nonsense on here

The election campaigns seems to have taken the root of previous.... Labour v Tory with Brexit complicating and confusing things a bit with the LibDems shouting from the side to get a foothold. Which party can promise the most but still appear to be sensible with the economy plus let's attack the opposition personally or their policies. Party loyalty may mean that many people are forced to accept and defend some policies or people that they, when being honest with themselves, don't actually wholeheartedly believe and wish they were different. I've no Idea who came up with the Labour policy on Brexit but the more that people try to defend it the more it exposes politicians as discreditable, dishonest, arrogant, manipultive and devoid of real talent, ability and vision. At the moment Thornberry sums up the leadership. qualities of the UK, holding people in contempt , standing for Labour but appearing to be completely without any connection to ordinary people. in my opinion. Entitled career politicians might not be the best people to run the country. / ( As a small aside from the clip..Thornbery makes a small mistake , "mis saying" Remain instead of Leave.... nothing wrong in that, easy to do, we could all do it......... What passes under the radar...... the reason given for the mistake, laughed off, is that it is quarter to seven in the morning.....in my experience millions of people / colleagues / parents are up and working, one way or another, at this time, or arriving home from a night shift. The reality of" work". She is only doing her job).

I can’t be arsed correcting the litany of fantasy economics you’ve concocted but I will make one point - are you aware of “The Fourth Rail Package of 2016”. Basically it means you cannot do what you are proposing if you are a member of the EU. lets be honest here you cant argue with the economic points as you don't understand them so are trying to bluff your way through it to back your political stance and hoodwink other readers!!

It's worth noting that without Farage grandstanding about "standing down" in Tory seats, his party were in sharp decline in the polls and Johnson had done a decent job of winning back many of the people thinking about voting for the Brexit Party. Farage has seen the writing on the wall, elected not to put himself in the firing line, and is now suggesting he will give Johnson a chance - like he has any choice in the matter. It's now about saving face for Farage and the Brexit Party. I imagine something has happened behind the scenes to leave him and his party in such a hopeless state - I thought they were good for at least 5-15 seats not too long ago, but not they'll be lucky to get one. For his disciples they can at least rest assured that come December 13th December he'll be like Scrappy Doo, saying how he would teach these career politicians a lesson if only he had a chance - like a general election or something. Peerage. He shat on the vanity project party he created for a peerage. Plenty of candidates had submitted huge amounts to run their campaigns and Farage doesn't give a shyte. So-I-say...thank you for your money, the booze I'm drinking all my fags and luxurious living My fuck-off house in London I ask in all honestly why would you trust me? Without a scam or a lie what are we? So I say thank you for the money For giving it to me' (Non-refundable)
