Can he afford to lose 3 games in a row after last season?

Can he afford to lose 3 games in a row after last season? With his touchiness probably not. I think lose the first three and it will be all out war with the fans.

Can he afford to lose 3 games in a row after last season? Given the opposition, losing the first 3 will be a disaster. In fact losing the first 1 won’t go down well.

If I don't hear a boo by say, 40 minutes at 0-0 on Saturday I'll be absolutely shocked.

He's made that scenario with the results and the way he managed last season. We've had 3 years of massive decline, you can't blame fans for getting pissed off if we lost 3 in a row at the start of this season.

If no signs of progress can be seen in the first 3 games i can see problems. Jones has had a full pre season & bought in players he wanted for the system he wants us to play if things carry on from last season with draws & defeats with the odd win thrown in he could well be gone before xmas.

Even after his record last season? I think on the whole, we've been really patient with him. Losing 3 in a row, with who the opposition is, would be disastrous.

If we can't beat QPR at home then we might as well pack up.

Let's be honest, three games into a new season is long enough isn't it?
I think giving managers the first 45 minutes of the first game is ample, but maybe I'm harsh?

We should really be aiming for 9 points out of the first three games so 3 losses would be a bit disastrous, especially as Nathan has banged the drum about implementing his tactics and formation and has had quite a bit of time now.

The lack of patience and threats of boos, turning against NJ, is, quite frankly, embarrassing. The club stunk, with no end of bad apples in the dressing room. It will take the whole of this season, in my opinion to fully change matters. He will have my full support, but I don’t expect you to agree, because that would be like a leopard changing his spots.

If we can't beat QPR at home then we might as well pack up. They are a poor side and have lost their 'star man' to us they will be fighting at the wrong end this season. It would be hugely disappointing not to beat them even though we couldn't manage it last season. Mind you a 36 year old fullback scored twice against us, so hope for Stephen Ward yet but maybe not good news for our super new LWB JM. Neither side really know how to win so I am expecting a draw

He won 3 games in 21. You carry that on and it's going to end badly. It would anywhere. He does need time but when does that time become critical? I won't be booing them but if we lose 3 games like the OP says happened with those others then I don't think it will end well.

Binning off the season if we don't beat QPR in our first game? Don't be daft.

Someone posted about perspective. I merely asked if we lost 3 games in a row at the start of the season then perspective may not come into it. I think we'll draw with QPR and then beat Charlton anyway.

We need a goal scorer.
We need a defensive midfielder.
We could do with a left back.

I'm off to Charlton away for the first time so I'd love a win there.

I don't think QPR will be a pushover. Eze impressed at Stoke last season and of course Geoff Cameron is bound to score.
Mark Warburton will be keen to rebuild his reputation. Like a lot of last season, they will come here trying not to get beat.
I guess they'll sit deep, let us have a lot of the ball and try to break fast.
I'd certainly take a scrappy 1-0 win right now, just to get us off and running.

Have we learnt how to break a side down? It's a big test on the first day.

No - you're quite clearly a happy clapper. If we don't score from the kick off against QPR I will unfurl my Hughes/Lambert/Rowett/Jones/ANOther Out bedsheet in disgust.

Last year our off the ball movement was fucking none existent at times. From what I've seen in pre-season, it looks to have gotten a bit better and the players look fitter. Powell is likely going to be our most important player this year.

We've got as comfortable a start at you could wish for, we really need to get out on the 'B' of the 'Bang' of the starters gun as the sprinters say.
Find ourselves in catch up mode again and it will be a very long season, we can't afford to have a second season dead in the water in February.
MOMENTUM is the watchword.

Just worries me that he'll have little support.
