He must have lungs of steal I had no idea how he could be putting in that work rate in towards the end. Crossings getting better, defending is getting better. Hope he’s going to prove us wrong...well done Jimmy. And nice to see him getting a bit of credit where it’s due on this board for once! |

I thought McClean was good first half and great second. The one time he got caught going forward, Woods steamed back to tackle. Great to see all the players give 110% today (except maybe Smith and Allen).

Compare McLean going forward today with our fella on the other flank. Every time Smith got beyond the half way line he turned and rolled the ball backwards. No attempt whatsoever to attack the space in the final third and get a cross in. Made Cuco Martina look like a world beater in comparison. McLean 9/10 Smith 3/10 |

Their first goal I’m not sure what Smith was doing but I haven’t watched it back so don’t know if that’s a fair comment. He might have looked worse because McClean was doing well but I’ve not watched him and thought he’s better than Edwards. I don’t think he’s any better defensively than Edwards and I think he’s a lot worse going forwards. If NJ can coach McClean into what he did in that second half today, what can he do with Edwards! For me it’s a no brainier. |

Sitting in the Q railing lower tier stand it would be remiss of me to make a definitive comment on his first half performance. Second half watching him close up he certainly earn’t his wages in respect of his defending and his attacking play as a wing back.
