More than a little sad that there are reports of one of our players being abused and no one's quite sure if it was our supporters or the opposition who were doing the abusing.

I genuinely didn’t hear any abuse either from our fans or QPR. He usually gets dogs abuse as he goes back down the tunnel after the warm up but I heard none on Saturday

He usually gets dogs abuse as he goes back down the tunnel after the warm up but I heard none on Saturday I didn't hear anything either, though I'm at t'other end of the ground to the away supporters. It may be a complete fabrication. I just thought it was a bit ironic (if that's the right word) that there's every bit as much chance that it was our supporters rather than there's if indeed there was any abuse.

Probably best not to quote a convicted terrorist when you're rounding off a Tweet about suffering verbal abuse, especially as you're playing for a club that has supporters who've served the British Armed Forces... The Bobby Sands thing was completely unnecessary and was clearly going to inflame the situation.

I'm not taking sides, and I totally get that emotions are still raw about the IRA etc. I was just making the point that the whole situation is a bit sad.

In my opinion, McClean is an ok squad player, that's all. I don't even think he's as good as the much maligned Cameron; he's not as versatile. He's not the answer in any position for a club aiming for promotion. That is my opinion as well. Good for a squad, but not good enough to start in a real top level championship or prem team.

Doubt there will be many who care to admit it, but I thought he was brilliant today. In exception of Woods, I would of given him MOTM.
I think he's a scapegoat for a lot of peoples frustrations or, people simply don't like him because of his political beliefs and regardless of how well he plays, will never have a good word to say about the fella, but he deserves a lot of credit for his performance today.
His work rate is exceptional.

He should hold his head up high today, he put in a huge shift for the team and was out on his feet by the end. Shows promising signs of improvement at left back and thoroughly deserves his place for next week.
He may not be the most clinical, but he has the right attitude and tries his hardest. As long as he puts in performances like that, the position should be his.

Yep, fair play to him today.
Looked a bit rash early on, but when he got going he was excellent.

His final ball let us down a few times in the first half but all in all he was very good. He grew into the game and I'm sure he'll grow into the role over the course of the season.

He was woeful when Derby were on top in the 1st half. They target the left side because we are so weak defensively there.....as all teams appear to do. The rest of the game we were mostly attacking so our deficiencies weren't exposed as much yet even so they could have won it . In this system McClean is a liability defensively and I'd like to see a proper left back there Can't fault McClean for effort and he was dangerous going forward

His work rate is certainly incredible, and he'd run through a brick wall for you, but he's simply not a very good footballer. It's the absolute basics like passing/crossing etc. that really let him down. He's not good enough.

Second best player on the pitch today behind Woods. Imagine people thinking he was targeted with their play. Lawrence had the ball on the other side just as much as on their right side. He was defensively sound and attacked well.

I just hope if we have anyone currently doing the recruiting and scouting they can find a better option in January.

I think with a new LB, Etebo for Allen & someone to nail down the number 10 role then we'd be looking at a good squad. There were some good signs there today for me, but equally some worrying ones.

When you're getting praise from Liam Lawrence for your effort and physicality going up and down the line in a match. You've earned it. He was very good on the day.

Long may it continue.

I agree mostly good but scuffed a really good chance first half and it was his awful free kick that started their breakaway for the pen, overall though his best game yet at left back

Today was only his 3rd competitive game in this position. Give him a couple of months in the role before rushing to judgement. By comparison Joe Allen was playing in a MF role which he has done for many years and his game was littered with errors.

He really wasn’t “sound” defensively. He has no composure or resilience as a left back, commits himself far too easily and gets beaten cheaply over and over again. Which is understandable because he’s not a defender. I’ve never minded him as a wide attacker and his work rate is excellent, which is why Jones likes shoe-horning him into his system. Offered plenty going forward today, just have to hope the opposition don’t get into our half too much when he’s on the pitch.

You can't fault his commitment getting up and down the pitch. He was causing loads of problems in Derby's half but defensively i thought he struggled. Against better teams McClean would have left the field with his head spinning.

Decent performance today. Did his job and caused problems. Smith on the other side needs to do more.
