9-1 to win it next season Might as well be 900-1 if you are so sure, have a flutter on Stoke not winning.

This is all about how long it will take to restructure and clear the deadwood at both the playing level and the upper management echelons of the club. IF (big if) both are done quickly, effectively and ruthlessly, A return could be accomplished quite quickly, if not and nepotism, inefficiency and sheer small minded incompetence are allowed to continue, it might never happen at all !đŸ˜‘Certain people need dismissing for a quick return to happen. This applies top to bottom from, players to chief executives and even directors of some departments.

I agree about the clear out - but it's not very realistic to expect instance success on the back of it. The clubs that went down with a solid basis (eg Newcastle - decent players and a world class manager) have a chance of going straight back up. Those clubs that go down and have a major overhaul take years to get back up. Look at Norwich, Sheffield Utd, Leeds and Derby this year and Cardiff, Wolves and Fulham last year - all ex-Premierhip who spent at least 3 years (Villa) and longer (the rest) before the rebuild paid off. The club recognised at Xmas that we weren't in a position to go straight back up and have gone for slash and burn knowing full well that it is likely to take 2 or 3 seasons for us to be in a realistic position to go back up. By acting sooner rather than later we may have shaved a possible return down from 4 or 5 season to 2 or 3. Which is good. Anybody expecting a quick return next season - regardless of how big the clearout is - are likely to be very disappointed. Or, more likely, happy as a pig in shit as it presents umpteen opportunities to moan and whinge. I don't think some posters do happy - let alone patience.
