Are Fletcher, Williams, Tymon, Berahino still at the club?
That does take the edge off the other business we have done.

Without sounding too pessimistic it’s like sprinkling a tiny bit of glitter on a huge pile of dogshit.
We need somebody on the pitch to pull these fuckers together, hopefully Vokes with his experience has that capacity.
We have entered this transfer window with the stench of desperation, hopefully the new arrivals will go some way towards plugging the gap until the summer.

January window always the worst one for value but at least the cement mixer has started turning and we are seeing some movement with a bit of freshness. Not going up and not going down so I guess the Summer will be key

I’m all gambled out this season 😉 Bet your pot of pessimism is still as full as a bedtick though!!! The troll is buzzing his tits off tonight. She posted next to nothing after the Leeds match.

People shouldn’t be too critical when they don’t know the full facts. The transfer saga is not a candy shop, it’s not only difficult to find the correct players, it’s also difficult to get them to sign. Give the team a chance to turn things around, Rome wasn’t built in a day.

I’ll give this window a cautious 6. If we’d landed McKenna it would have been a generous 8. January windows are usually frustrating ....

Big disappointment we didn't get McKenna, we really needed another CB. That knocks it down to a 5 for me.

My big prediction is, that was the last window overseen by Carthorse, there were rumours during the lead up to naming Jones as manager that their was 'Steve Bould connection' coming in and we haven't heard much since, but I don't believe time allowed for this window.
I'd have to give this window a 6/10, we certainly tried to shift some on which was critical but I'd have to question Campbell and Pieters(or at least the lack of replacement).
We still have gaps to plug in Jones 4 4 2 rhombus formation
Butland ???1 Batth. ???2 ???3
???4 ???5 Etebo
Bojan?
Vokes. ???6
Options 1 Bauer, Edwards, Allen 2 BMI, Williams, Ryan, Collins 3 Clucas, Maclean, Tymon, Corrigan?(I know sweet FA about this youngster) 4 Adam, Woods, Allen, Sorenson 5 Ince, Woods, Allen, Clucas 6 Afobe, Saido, Ince, Diouf

Signing someone like McKenna would have been a massive step forward.
As it is we've signed a steady Eddie championship centre back.
At least we've signed a proper target man who should massively improve our forward play.

This window should be judged for what it is. It's the start of a squad trimming exercise and our manager rebuilding a squad that is rotten to the core. This is spot on.....and the manager has sent out a message to say that Bojan is an integral part of the plan going forward. Have you got a link please, i missed that one?

3 out of 10. Needed another centre half and full back especially as pieters now gone. £10 million for Vokes £12 million for Afobe. What happened to Osborn McLean deal, McKenna the full back from Luton

According to the Daily Mail we've signed 4 in the window. Never were very good with facts that rag Woods, Afobe, Batthe and Vokes. Plus a new manager and a few of his staff - money also spent on this but probably a good investment

Have we really trimmed it though Martina was going in the summer anyway. It's the very early beginnings of what will be a completely different Stoke City team and squad by this time next year. Whether Jones has the ability to turn us into the side we would all like to see, only time will tell but in my opinion judging this window negatively is all a bit premature and daft. I absolutely agree we're at the start of a complete squad overhaul - which needs to happen - but if anything by letting go Pieters (and Martina to some extent) and not replacing with anyone we have weakened our defensive options, which was our biggest weakness anyway. Batth is a plus - but for this window not to have done major he's got to be pretty handy from the outset and the players at wingback are going to have to get up to speed on their roles pretty quickly. Pieters and Martina became Rowett's solution to a very dodgy defence - and earned us points. Unless Jones can do something Rowett couldn't with the defenders we have we could be back to how we were at the start of the season. Big risk.

Just Crouchy. Pieters will be back in the summer. IMO Campbell shouldn’t have gone. Martina was going in June anyway We still have Imbula Wimmer Berahino Fletcher Haugaard Tymon

Not at all but quite a few posters seem to think we got rid of a lot of dead wood and we really didn’t. I’m not saying overhaul but I do think we neglected to address some key issues namely LB and another CB. Vokes I think is a very good signing at this level though. Believe me there’ll be more excuses in the summer when we don’t do the business done that we need to. Then Jan 20 it’ll be “it’s very hard to do business in Jan” again.

To be fair, in the summer just gone we outspent most of the league on what, 8 new players? The mistake we made was appointing a manager who didn't have a scooby what he was doing. Jones seems to have a plan at least, we've got young players out on loan, we've started the clear out process moving on a couple of players who've needed to be moved on for a while, all that seems positive to me. Vokes should be a decent signing, don't know a lot about Batth. But considering it's January, when not much traditionally gets done, we've set the wheels in motion more than I was expecting us to. Shifting Imbula, Wimmer etc - the man's not a miracle worker, what are we supposed to do if nobody wants them?

January is a difficult month in the transfer market so i didn't have high expectations in regard to Baath & Vokes i think they are just what we need in this league if i have a regret i think we should have gone in big 10 mill for Clarke but i am certain this summer will see a lot of movement in both directions

5.
Could have been a lot better (departure of McClean for e.g.)
Could have been a lot worse (Martina might not have been recalled but that was more luck than judgement I'd have thought).
And, for whatever reasons, we've kicked the proverbial can down the road to the summer when the big reshuffle must surely happen.

Alex Ferguson would struggle with our lot this transfer window. Bath and V okes are good championship players.
Let's see what Jones does with the squad.
In Nathan Jones we trust, remember.
Bojan and V okes. Maybe the plan is to just outscore the opposition.lol. let's wait and see. Loop hi

6.5
It is clearly positioning for the next two windows. We know what position he will target in the summer. A few have moved on, and a few have been told they can. They didn't this time, but will probably be told again.
Given the manager wasn't even here when the window was open, it was good enough.
