7 so far
Would have been great to bid Fletcher bon voyage but hey ho
+3 alone for Cuco
-1 keeping McClean
+4 Vokes
+1 to let the Big Man go and herald a new era for Plan B (and A at times)

It's always "next window", isn't it? Started well, fizzled out. 4.

Whatever else happens between now and 11, I’m knocking a mark off for letting Pieters go. Why keep a player that doesn't fit the system the manager uses, its a waste of money.

Around dinner time it was looking like a 9 but it all faded away and overall now no more than a 4

4 if it stays the same for 11p.m
Fancy not signing one of McKenna or Clarke when we have Williams to go back in the summer, Shawcross on borrowed time & bmi not great either.
Batth needs to be bloody good to make up for that.

This window should be judged for what it is.
It's the start of a squad trimming exercise and our manager rebuilding a squad that is rotten to the core.

The average age of a Stoke footballer has gone down considerably, and may even go down a little further before the night is over. After failing completely to shift dead wood for several windows, we also got rid of some woefully useless players, but still kept some that's worse. But it's a start. It's difficult at this point to sense a pattern in the players that are coming in and the ones who are staying. It's great of course that we've kept Bojan, but keeping him is only half of it. Players that can adapt themselves to his way of playing is the essential condition for whether or not his next 10 games are going to be good or not.

I'll take you up on that Benji. We'll be bang on mid table. I’m all gambled out this season 😉 Bet your pot of pessimism is still as full as a bedtick though!!!

Well, it's a start.
Pleased with Vokes. Batth less so, but will obviously judge him on what he does here.
Left-back situation looks a complete mess.
Martina going obviously a slight positive in terms of saved wages, but he wouldn't have played anyway.
Crouchy incrasingly an irrelevance too. At least his wages transfer to someone useful in Vokes.
All things considered, we weren't threatening the play-offs pre-deadline. And we aren't now - so, as Theresa May would say, nothing has changed.
The heavy lifting of the rebuild will have to come in the summer - but it'll be equally hard to shift the crap then, so probably best not to hold our breath.
January windows are notoriously complete let-downs, and this one has ultimately been no different.
5/10

Not the best
Yet another window where we are in desperate need of pace to come in. And yet...... nothing again!

Genuinely amazed at what people were expecting. We've got a fuck ton of shit players on massive contracts nobody wants.
We're also bang in the middle of the Championship.
This is going to take at least 3 windows to fully address. It's a start.

8 from me, he's got rid of 3 ineffective big earners. He seems to want to use Bojan and if the reports are true that the club rejected a WBA bid this will be like signing a new playmaker. He's had a look at the young players and has quickly realised they are not yet ready and has moved them on rather than clutter the training pitch. I'm sure he would have loved to move on the likes of Berahino, Fletcher, Wimmer, Imbula etc but who the fuck would want them?

No point throwing money after a daft promotion chase. We've brought in a leader and the target man that we need in order to get to 50 points, all while shedding some deadweight. The proper rebuild begins in the summer.

Baath and Voakes are positives - as are most of the outgoings - except Pieters.
In letting go of Pieters and Martina Jones has pretty much ditched the option of a flat back four - and like it or not the only reason we're mid table is because Rowett relied on a boring flat back four to stem the flow of goals. Unfortunately that leaves a dodgy central defence very exposed. Which puts a lot of pressure on Baath to make an early impression.
I'm really not convinced by Bauer defensively and Edwards is still learning. The left side is even more worrying - Tymon should be nowhere near the first team so we're reliant on the young lad from Manchester City coming good or Clucas or McClean filling in. If the central defence was established and decent we might get away with it. But it isn't. Massive risk.
It feels like we've taken the roof off, let the builders go on holiday and hoping we don't get any rain until they come back and pick off where they left off.
We should have enough in us to stay up. Hopefully we can start bedding a few in in readiness to finish the job in the summer.
So 5 - job half done. And fingers crossed the rains keep off.

Have we really trimmed it though Martina was going in the summer anyway. It's the very early beginnings of what will be a completely different Stoke City team and squad by this time next year. Whether Jones has the ability to turn us into the side we would all like to see, only time will tell but in my opinion judging this window negatively is all a bit premature and daft.

Zero. Absolutely nothing positive about it at all. The main signing Vokes is past his best and would have been good for a last dash push to the play offs but he alone will not manage that and will be consigned to the subs bench in two years.Pathetic.

5 positives we have have brought in two solid pros which we need .
Negatives too much shit still here which we as fans need to accept will take years to clear.
Selling Pieters and Crouch is fair enough but I have a lot on my hit list before them , thank fuck Martina has gone just a shame the other camel from Everton remains .

4.5. Hopefully the summer window will be better. Need to shift more players out. Left back position totally confusing!
