Vokes and Batth are good signings. But yet again we’ve come up short. No LB, still lumbered with 3 innefective CBs ant potentially 1 decent CB. We always loan so the same problem will be there in the summer. Looks like we were close on a few but couldn’t get them over the line. If we get rid of Pieters on a loan with no LBs that’s a ludicrous deal.

I’ll wait until 11 o’ clock before commenting if that’s ok😉

4ish
We’ll still have huge defensive issues. We have signed a decent striker in Vokes but we are wank at building from the back. We don’t have a left sided fullback to play Jones system.
But pump really.

You do realise somebody has to want those we are ( as you say ) lumbered with?

4. Feel abit vulnerable in that we still haven't got that creative player...no bojan comments please. Would have loved to have had Osborn on that left hand side and a spritely left back in JJ. Just hope we aren't going with tymon and McLean.

Considering its January my rating is 10 because we managed to land striker and defender, and kept Bojan.

That was as good as it could have been
Got rid of coco Crouch sad but past it at stoke. He will have a 6 month lease of life up there Vokes decent replacement Decent Chanpionship CB in. Trimmed pieters off the wage bill A very good Man City youngster.
We always want more but that is a decent start for NJ
We will probably just miss out on play offs but there is a basis of a championship promotion squad that players may just want to join in the summer

8, A much needed CB and a striker, can't complain, with a nice added bonus of getting rid of a player on big wages and losing Martina, whats not to like.

Obviously Scholes needs to get home early to make sure he’s up early for his trip to France in the morning

Given how impossible some of that dead wood is to shift. I thought it's been quite good. Direction of travel is in the right direction. Four out of contract in the summer. Gives NJ some room to work on what was a very overcrowded training pitch.

3/10 Wanted 5 in and 6+ out, and a clearer picture to emerge of how we are shaping up - so 1pt - Batth sounds a good squad addition for a reasonable price Vokes - too much for a 29yr old and little thought to the future. Not a spectacular record in Champs and can't see where service will come from, unless its route 1. Left without a LB Midfield lacks creativity and pace 3 places freed up wtih departures of Cuco and Affelay and Crouch*. Too many left that needed to go: Fletcher, Adam, Shawx, Tymon, Beharinho, Maclean + existing lot on loan. (And ideally we would have swapped out BMI (for another CB), Bojan** (a more robust, creative player))
*/**No reflection on the great man, but we just need to recreate our team.

5 but if Pieters goes with no replacement brought in that will drop to a 3
Vokes and Batth look decent but not exactly the young and hungry players we were lead to believe we’d be signing with the rumours of Clarke, McKenna, Jones & Osbourne
Glad that we’ve shifted some wages and very glad Cuco has been fucked off but still too many players stealing a living (Williams, Clucas, Diouf, Fletcher)
Could take as many as 3 more windows to properly sort this shit out

Having watched windows come and go and being a pessimist always means I'm pleasantly surprised when things don't totally fuck up.

In Woods 7m Afobe 12m Batth 3.5m Vokes 7m (Corrigan ? - to be confirmed)
Out Crouch free Afellay paid up Sweeney free Martina terminated loan Pieters loan Souttar loan (Campbell loan - to be confirmed)
We have spent a decent amount without getting anything back in return, so again the Coates have stumped up cash to back the manager.
January is difficult to do lots of business in, as clubs are reluctant to let players go without replacements and usually add a premium to the fee they want.
Jones has bolstered his defence and attack with experienced heads who will add some leadership and physicality. He has trimmed the squad, maybe not as much as he would have liked, but other teams have to want our players, unless we pay up their contracts.
Major surgery will need to be undertaken in the summer, but January was a step in the right direction. I'd give it a 7 for now - it could go higher still if we sneak a great deal in at 10.59pm.

Having watched windows come and go and being a pessimist always means I'm pleasantly surprised when things don't totally fuck up. Ha, indeed. And what's wrong with that? I think a brain dead blindman could have seen from May that we needed a clear out then and a new breed of player (and not least 3-4 players who could score and create, more energy in midfield and a new CB pairing); and some players were never going to make meaningful positive impacts again (Diouf, Berahinho, Fletcher, Adam, Bojan, et al). But not our top brass who thought the Championship would be a bit easier for our esteemed PL gang - and they'd we get to 70 goals out of just Afobe and Ince as our goal threat!. So, having badly misjudged things then and failed to take the necessary steps, would have hoped that the penny would have dropped and they'd enter this window with a gusto never previously seen. Its not down to NJ, the club are just paying for past mistakes, but also repeating them with the Vokes transfer.

Hopefully, they blow it all on the next Portuguese wonderkid in the summer, only for him to be more Quaresma than Ronaldo, with the conditioning of a Wimmer and the attitude of an Imbula.

3 out of 10, poor window for me, needed a left wing back, a creative midfielder, adam minus 10 years, and another centre half
