He has the most expensively assembled and talented squad in the league. He has been handsomely backed, I'm sorry that excuse is the biggest load of bollocks aver spouted. Granted there are underlying issues at the club and have been for years which should have been dealt with as part of the root and branch restructure that was prommised after relegation. this club was rotten to the core, if we could rid half of our squad tomorrow I'm sure we would. There is no healthry compitition for places, berahino aside (who he has happened to ressusatate from the dead) the players gary has spent money on are our best players, that speaks volumes for a squad that have been classing themselves as premier league players for the past few years. These arnt premier league players, they were expensively & overly paid assembled shit by another manager who happened to be around to give out extended contracts like they were confetti. Fletcher, crouch although once upon a time good players are past it. The rebuild has only just began, it wasn't a tart you up with a bit of paint job either, its a complete rebuild, the size of rebuild that doesn't happen in 1 transfer window I don't think anyone disagrees with the core of what you are saying. What you seem to be ignoring is that Gary Rowett is overseeing some of the worst football we have played in the last 10 or so years despite having about 100 million quids worth of talent available to him most of which are playing in a division below their expectations!! He has also had all summer and 24 games to sort it out.

The arrogant one has gone too far. The swing from those on the fence in the Rowett in or Rowett out debate has clearly swung towards him deservedly being given the boot judging by the posts on here since yesterday. A sold out away end at Birmingham witnessed possibly the biggest pile of shite seen in many years when following OUR club, yes OUR club, not this fools club. He is but very temporary. It was so bad that I felt too numb to bother shouting shit at Rowett at the end of the game. This idiot needs to know very loudly what the supporters think of him and his shit, negative, and clueless football. I know that the saints on here will chip in with the give him a bit more time, and just get behind the team ramblings, but we are seriously going backwards with this bell end in charge. I will get behind the team as I tried to at Brum, but the fucking life is being sucked out of any optimism and enthusiasm that I have had since the morning of the debacle at Leeds. I will not get behind this odious twat. Rowett Out!! Songs for Bojan in 27 mins? Pass it on... A succession of managers, both at Stoke and whilst on loan not picking him, confirms Bojan isn't the answer. Like it or like it not you need to move on.

People peddling the 'state of the situation he inherited' line seem to forget the basket case West Brom were when Darren Moore, a less experienced manager than Jug Ears I might add, took over. They were in a poorer state than us and have spent considerably less than us.
Yet they're doing crazy shit like scoring more than twice in games and attacking teams. How can this be?

He's proved he knows how to get clubs into the play offs. No point stopping a rebuild halfway through, they need to carry on with the financial commitment

I am feeling pretty low right now but I would not presume to use the word "we" when it is "I" you should be saying. So your proposal I assume is to make the atmosphere at Stoke and away matches worse than it already is just when the team needs our backing? Whatever mate. Have a nice day.

There isn't a manager in this League, let alone the Premier League, who would complain at inheriting Allen, Butland, Bojan, Shawcross, BMI, Pieters and to some extent Berahino. There is absolutely no excuse for the dross football he is serving up.....and you have no answer for that. I would trust him with another quid.

Thing is, I don’t agree what some people say that Bojan is the best player in this league and that he should be starting every week. I don’t think he’s as good as some make out on here. BUT. He’s becoming a symbol of Rowetts lack of creativity and inability to be positive. The way we are playing isn’t working the way it should and won’t get us anywhere, and he’s got someone there who can make a difference to a boring team and just simply offer something else. But for some unknown reason, it’s the last thing on his mind. He’d of been perfect bring on at Birmingham. He needs to be in th squad every week. From his limited appearences he also made Afobe look good and vice versa. I'm not saying he's a world beater either but when you're playing as bad as we are you have to give him a chance, not as you suggest in cameos of the bench, but by playing him in a sequence of matches. Because he's not a Savid Fairclough type of supersub. He's the heartbeat in a team.

This club is imploding. Fans wanted pulis out, wanted Hughes out, wanted Lambert out and now want Rowett out. What happened to getting behind your team regardless. There appears to be more divisions in our fan base that there are on Brexit! I suspect a lot is to do with a lot jumping on the premier league bandwagon and not having any real experience of stoke city before then. There is a lot of truth in what you say. There has been a definite cultural shift in our fan base over the years (hard to imagine us now piping up with the old song "we're proud of Stoke" in defeat like we used to). We always did have a small minority of negative/loser types, but add to that the Premier League JCLs, key board warriors etc. and you end up with all this shit and the large number of divvies that post on here (apologies to the genuine Stoke fans by the way). The mathematical irony is lost on the numpties that continually call for a manager's head e.g. if there are 24 excellent managers in the division, in the modern era at least half a dozen of them will be classed as "clueless" (and much worse) by their own fans, primarily based on league position alone. The said managers then get sacked and a good chunk of them bounce back with comparable (sometimes better) jobs, proving of course that in most cases the truly "clueless" ones were actually the half wits calling for their head in the first place. In no other industry can you get sacked for 'incompetence' then bounce back straight away in a comparable (not without a serious 'cover up', which is not available to these guys). I am not a Rowett fan BTW, based on my view (held from Day 1) that - never in a million years - was he an upgrade on Paul Lambert. If the fans had got behind Lambert then he would still be here and I am convinced we would be in a better position (its hilarious to read a lot of Stoke fans opinions in Lambert, which run completely counter to the fans of the clubs that he managed over a much longer period of time). That is all conjecture of course. But looking at the whole merry go round, who is actually to blame? BTW - not saying that Stoke fans are necessarily worse than a lot of other clubs (but they are certainly 'up there'), who also have their share of the 'silly as arseholes' brigade!

I'm struggling to see the point you are making here to be honest. But if there is a shift amongst supporters (me being one of those who used to go to nearly every game in my younger years and sing when winning or losing) then it is because these days we are in a league where are budget dwarfs all other clubs and we should be doing a lot better. So yes, there is a lot of frustration on here. In terms of sacking managers, I suppose its just part of the game. Really, money, budget, that's what determines how well a manager does. Rowett has failed miserably. Rowett out

Possibly signing Gayle ( Rowett could have but preferred Afobe) and offloading McClean for stupid money and replacing him with Harvey Barnes then attacking football maybe explains some of it.

I'm behind Gary Rowett 100%, things will improve given time and further backing in the January window to sort out the defence. He hasn't had the perfect start here that people were predicting but there is plenty of time left this season to put that right. It has been a frustrating season so far but I think in reality it was always going to be a tough season, anyone expecting us to dominate clearly hadn't been watching us closely over the past few years.
We need a couple of new faces in January, a CB has to be a priority, and a winger too if we're going to persist with the current formation.
Replacing Rowett won't solve anything, better to back him instead and give him time to do the job.

What is it with people wanting the club to be worse by doing these things?
If you don't want Rowett in place, just stop going to games. The only thing "showing" is going to do is to lower the teams performance unnecessarily, at a time when things are getting slowly better; one of the best points return and defence in the league over the last 10 games, some of the best footballing performances we've had in years.
Since the start of the premier league period our fans have slowly turned into jumped up individuals who don't really seem to support, only moan at what is arguably really our best period.
Rowett isn't perfect, but him and the coaching staff are turning things around; they aren't destroying the club. Genuinely the worst thing about our club at the moment is the fans. If the fans were onside, we'd be in the play offs already; stop damaging our club!

I'm looking forward to seeing how the club tackle January and what we look to add to improve further Yes that is the aim. We can forget about automatic promotion already at the half way point. So he's failed there. The way we are playing we will not make the playoffs either. That is total abject failure. What you are failing to recognise is that he has track record of getting players to play above their level through work rate and hard work. He hasn't inherited a squad of John Walters'. He's inherited a squad of international players with significant PL experience. That means his usual "if you give 110%, work harder than them and keep it tight you can beat them" team talk goes out of the window. He and his backroom staff are failing to motivate quality players by continually offering a negative approach to the games. Until he realises that you can forget the playoffs. The big worry is his has realised it but is too stubborn to change, or more worryingly has no idea how to.

I don't think people are saying that Bojan is the answer but to not even give him a place on the bench, which he at least deserves from his fleeting appearances this season is what some fans can't get there head around. In recent weeks we have had Sorensen,Campbell(plus 2 other forwards)and ffs Fletcher in the squad but nothing for Bojan and no explanation why.The treatment of Bauer also is baffling. Didn't expect us to storm the Division but did think that we would and should be doing better, points wise and performance wise. Not convinced that GR has the tactical nous to take us up or even get us into the play offs.

I first went to see my beloved Potters in 1968 and have been through thick and thin ever since. The vast majority of posters on here care deeply about the team and the results. The current brand of football keeping you happy is it and the fact that we have an under achieving team which was expected to do much better by knowledgable people with no connection to Stoke City? I have friends who are Derby and Birmingham fans and they said good riddance when Rowett left. If results and performances improve then some of the negativity you refer to will recede. However where we are currently is not good enough and if that makes me negative so be it.
