I've never been to one....
Does that make me odd?

I have seen them twice in recent years and they played it certainly at the latter one Jobson a brilliant stage presence. I so them originally back in 78 and mesmerised by Jobson and Adamson what a night.

Skids were absolutely superb tonight. Venue was great and something we could/should have in stoke.
Wasn't particularly full but the sound and band were excellent.
A great last minute find for £20.

Tuska day 2. Missed a lot of the earlier setup because we went for a run round Helsinki. Ginormous pride parade blocked off loads of the streets and made the run longer. Gayest thing I've seen in ages.
Anyway.
Stam1na - they sing in Finnish but I liked the music. Catchy tunes and more accessible than some acts.
Make Them Suffer - metalcore, some nice bits mixing the lead and a strong clean vocalist.
Amorphis - wonderful musicians, sat back with a drink for this one and soaked them up.
Bring Me The Horizon - Not a huge fan of the tunes but the energy was top level and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lead man Oli gets the crowd pumping.

Did they play Melancholy Soldier? They have played locally up here in a 500 capacity venue and have it rocking with older men and women in the mosh pit. Pleased you had a great night.

Sadly they didn't play melancholy soldier. But it was a great setlist to be fair. Note to self - avoid mixing red stripe with cider cos my heads throbbing today. 😕

FM at Barnoldswick music and arts centre last night. Wonderful small venue that holds around 60 people. The band were once again excellent answering questions between songs and it made it joyful and more intimate. They told some funny tales about life on the road over the last 40 years. Everyone including the band thoroughly enjoyed the night. Hope they return and do it again in the future.

Is that the venue owned by Pete Barton (Animals etc) which if it is i believe a great little atmosphere for small gigs. I was due go to to an event there then just as convid stopped life.

Final day of Tuska. I'm still furious with Southgate that I skipped Opeth to watch that steaming turd of a first half.
Bury Tomorrow - did the UK proud. Top energy and I love it when there are melodies in heavy music.
Parkway Drive - see above. Great show.
We're both beaten to fuck from the pits in each show though.

At my last day at Glastonbury, I watched:
Problem Patterns The K's Paloma Faith James Nothing But Thieves Fat Dog (again) Londom Grammar
I was surprised at how good Nothing But Thieves were and really enjoyed watching them.
Tried to watch Avril Lavigne but fuck me, I think everyone at Glastonbury went to watch her. She should have been on the Pyramid Stage for a bit more room.
Fat Dog is just chaos at it's finest. It's like being at an IDLES gig on acid.

I was surprised at how good Nothing But Thieves were and really enjoyed watching them. I saw them ages ago and had the same reaction mate. Maybe a tiny bit of early Muse vibes but that was yonks ago and I bet they've evolved?

Janelle Monae at Aviva Studios, Manchester. Was confused at first as we were seated far further forward than the seats were at Johnny Marr at the same venue. The stage and setup felt way different to that gig but I put it down to the venue being multifunctional for different types of gigs. Turns out there are two halls 🙄😂
Ask me again in a couple of weeks but right now, on my way home, that's in my top 10.
Outstanding sound, choreography, visuals, singing, well, outstanding everything. One of the great all round performers of our time. 10/10

AC/DC last night at Wembley, it one for the bucket list and mixed emotions. I’m glad I saw them live but gutted than Brian Johnson voice has gone. It was hard for him last night.
I still have tinnitus lol it was loud, but one I’ll remember. I’m off to Stonedead in August (see you at the bar Telford).
I’m not a Saxon fan but like that latest album, KK priest will be good and it’s basically an opportunity to see live music in a field and have some beer

I did email the venue asking if I could swap my ticket given neither was sold out, but I didn't get a response.

The National @ Castlefield Bowl tonight. Last minute twickets jobbie. Absolutely sensational gig. Haven't seen them for about 15 years and the albums after alligator and boxer leave me pretty cold tbh but thought the Glastonbury set looked good so decided to chance it...so glad I did. Sounded absolutely massive. Torrential rainstorm throughout the encore just added to the atmosphere. Glorious night
They've come a long way since playing to 250 stokies at the Sugarmill

StoneDead will be a cracker again and I'll tell you all about the Taylor Swift show too so something to look forward to😄🤬

But for me it was the first time experience so at least I can say I’ve been to a DC gig. Yep you can tell me the story lol, is it to do with Swifty or maybe Paramore?
