Tbh I don’t think there’s a character in it that hasn’t got a great part. There’s no main character really. Loved the bit when Duffy came in the pub when his mrs had had him back. Brilliant. And when Tommy was moaning about his new job and it turned out he was a lollipop man. Just brilliant

Just brilliant the best bit with Duffy and his wife back is Winnie putting a pin him when she says she couldnt afford that big house all on her own now he has gone back too his wife could she!

There’s gonna be another series isn’t there Not if the BBC have anything to do with it. Joe's revelation about his wife's London friends and the regulars reactions probably put the mockers on it.

The bbc wouldn’t make anything funny these days, I’m fact not many networks would… The new series everyone else burns on channel 4 pushes the boundaries of modern comedy a little bit and is funny but it’s not early doors funny!

I have absolutely no idea why Channel 4 or even a streaming service like apple+ etc. aren't in on this. Mealey and Cash have said that they've got it in the bag and that they want to do it ...

It would of been great years ago but not so sure now. All the actors have aged too much and I hope it wouldn’t be be like the later episodes of Royle family (stupid and shit).. Why a 3rd wasn’t done at the time though is criminal

Absolutely brilliant, easily as good as the original (arguably better)!

I watched the first episode based on the recommendations here. I didn't think I was going to like it at first (it reminded me of The Royle Family, which I didn't get into), but now I'm looking forward to episode 2. Seems I've averaged less than one episode a week, but I watched the final episode today. Great stuff. I loved how most episodes ended on a funny note, which gave me a false sense of security and made the impact of episodes ending on a lower note even bigger. I love where Tommy sat in the final episode. It was ridiculous but made complete sense. I see the full live show was available online at some point but the Vimeo link no longer works: www.comedy.co.uk/live/news/6541/watch-early-doors-live/I found this clip as well as those above: I watched His Dark Materials in the past months too, so it was strange seeing a young James McAvoy in Early Doors and current McAvoy in His Dark Materials. Is Early Doors anything like Royle Family, especially in terms of the humour?

Like the Royle family it’s British humour at its best laughing at our own lifestyles in a subtle but funny way. British comedy is brilliant at producing this kind of stuff that only Brits can laught at.

I'll give it another shot! The characters in Early Doors were spot-on. Not caricatures either, which is one thing I think made it work so well.

Went to the theatre last night, the RSC, where an adaptation of Maggie O'Farrell's excellent book, Hamnet, was being staged.
Delighted to see that the actor playing Shakespeare's cantankerous old man was Peter Wight, aka the copper Nige from Early Doors.
The stage at the Swan Theatre RSC is very close to the audience. Sorely tempted at the close of the play as he walked off having received a good ovation to say "Crime won't crack itself, Ken"...

Worth a bump.
It's got to be better than all the morbid bickering that goes on, on here.

Didn't care for it much ..bit of a catchphrase, same joke thing at times but Caroline Aherne was excellent as always. In fact Caroline Aherne wanted to buy one of the specials to prevent it being aired she disliked it so much. Early Doors was a great show. Far more subtle humour ..not ..my arse or you're one lazy sod etc every episode. For a show set on a sofa was incredibly clever though.
