I've always really liked GCam. Obviously wanted everyone in a Stoke shirt to succeed - but especially Geoff for some reason. Thinking back - i remember he came on for his debut against Wigan away and within about 5 minutes played a pin-point 60 yard cross field ball. The first genuinely targeted long ball for a long time rather than a general twat-it up field. PRobably gave me a permanent mental boner for him.

A strange one considering he was seemingly looking for better. Oh well. Even stranger when you think we seemingly turned down 2 early summer bids for him. Strange all round but he seemingly hasn't been training at all. Is he even fit?

And for how much I don't rate him as a footballer, there's no arguing that he was a fantastic athlete. Take that away from his game and you get a big bag of nothing.

Very unfair in my view he has been a great deviant to the club and never not given his all....his versatility alone added value to our squad and he goes with very best wishes for his time with us and for the future!!!

Exactly what I was thinking neddy, it’s a really strange one. His face clearly didn’t fit with Rowett which is a shame

I really don’t think it is a strange one. He looks completely done for, he hasn’t played regularly or well for over a year, he’s at best, fourth choice centre back, fourth choice right back and about 37th choice central midfielder.
Thanks for everything Geoff, best of luck.

Great player for the club. Brilliant servant. Ultimate professional.
Played a big part in one of our most successful eras.
All the best Geoff.

The concussion affected his head in more ways than the obvious if you ask me. We got great service for what we paid but his time has past. Good luck to him.

Great player for us! We got our money back and then some with him over the last near decade it seems. Wish him luck in London. Hopefully Woods and Etebo partnership can ease my worry of being left with Fletcher and Adam as back up in midfield.

We’d be crazy letting Geoff go unless we got someone else in on loan? Wasn’t Woods the midfield part and Martina the defensive cover? Think we are good tbh but would love another utility player like Geoff. Helped make our squad solid in the Prem.

Think we are good tbh but would love another utility player like Geoff. Helped make our squad solid in the Prem. Cameron covered right back, centre back and midfield. Clucas and Martina cover the whole defence and midfield. I'd still prefer another bona fide centre back, but we've got cover now.

I really liked Geoff, he was a very underrated player by some.
We always looked a much better team when he played as a holding midfielder (his best position) we just didn't use him there as much as we should have for various reasons.
He goes with my best wishes, a true pro and and absolute bargain. Best of luck Geoff.

better than Shawcross and Williams. Also better than Adam and Fletcher Stupid decision As a centre back he is not better than Shawcross or Williams. He's more mobile than both Fletcher and Adam but is let down by his passing. Sadly I think Geoff's best quality actually hinders him, that being he can play in a number of positions. I believe this has stopped him making any one position in the team his own as he doesn't excel in one specific position.

Best of luck Geoff. The main one being he wasn't good enough, closely followed by being caught out of position and his duck foot crosses that nobody had a clue where they were going. His athleticism was his best asset but his legs have long gone.

I thought he was a really valuable player for most of his time here.
But he did look physically shot last season. And at 33, hard to see him really getting that elite athleticism back, and without that, he hasn't got much in his locker.
Whether if the concussion problems are behind him, he can be decent at this level, we'll find out. But I don't think he's much of a loss now, as good as he's been overall.
