Seems there ain’t much doubt he’ll be found guilty so he’ll end up paying some cash to the diver he insulted.

I wonder how much damage this will do though to him as a person. He has come across as arrogant and unpleasant - which aren’t unusual characteristics of billionaires. But being stupid as well, maybe less so...

And now he has a load of vanity projects/companies which all run at extraordinary losses.

Which pretty much goes to show his intentions were never in the right place in the first place. The Urban Myth of a Rich Daddy is just that probably started by his eccentric and delusional father

When Musk left South Africa aged seventeen with intent to eventually go to US. He arrived in Montreal and then took a 1900 mile bus ride to his Cousins Farm where he worked for the next year as well as in lumber yards

Having saved some money he enrolled at a mediocre Canadian University where he spent the next two years. before eventually gaining a scholarship to Stanford . None of this smacks of inherited wealth but does it matter.

Perhaps the myth derives from when Musk dropped out of Stanford he and his brother Kimbal did indeed borrow $28,000 from his Father to start Zip2 which they sold to Compaq 4 years later for $307M

I'm not really aware of his vanity projects, but what else are bored Billionaires going to do A lot of them seem obsessed with Space Bezos, Branson etc. I'm sure when Musk started Space X and Tesla many people considered them Vanity Projects 

It's estimated that a Battery EV emits 3 times less Co2 than a conventional Petrol Car. If the electricity is produced by renewables even more Its why UK and many other Countries are banning Petrol/Diesel Cars by 2030 to help meet Net Zero Targets. Tesla are clearly pioneers in this arena so it would be churlish to deny he has not contributed Do I think he's doing it for altruistic reasons, of course not.

What can not be disputed is one of Musks Vanity Projects Starlink has changed the War in Ukraine's favour. Musk being in a pissing contest withe The Pentagon is hardly surprising as I'm sure he sees himself as some later day Ernst Blofeld. What I feel shocking about the whole situation is that one very erratic man has the power to change the course of a War and ultimately History That must be like a Turbo Boost of Viagra to his Ego.
