Yes. Mistakes happen especially when you play useless fat oafs like Adam and persist with a bone idle left winger. We were also absolutely rotten vs Brighton and were lucky to get a point in the end. Oh come off it. We were unlucky not to win. As you said, a fat oaf fucked it for us. What about Butland? Should he have dropped him? We were absolutely shite against Brighton. Only one team deserved to win that game and it wasn't us. He should have dropped Choupo, we might have stood a chance of the cross not reaching him. Butland has been poor all season mind so a mistake of that ilk comes as no surprise.

On the day lambo walked through the door we...
Had conceded the most goals of any top flight team in europe
And by some distance
We also Had the worst goal difference of any top flight team, by some distance
Today, we have conceded the same amount of goals as west ham And a similar amount to huddersfield. With similar goal difference to huddersfield ( -26 v -25)
If lambo is as clueless as some claim?? Why is this not backed up by stats??

Yes, we would be the envy of the footballing world, sack a 2nd manager in 12 years then sack a 3rd after 6 games because he only got 7 points in 6 games. What is the point of this thread apart from indulging in your own misery?

The old hysterical response when the obvious is pointed out and you have no answer for it.
I don't want Lambert sacked now nor do I want him here next season regardless of what division we happen to be in.
He shouldn't even be here in the first place. He's the luckiest man in football.

Next home game he needs to park the bus, because goal difference is going to be crucial. I hope he doesn’t get slated for that , but he probably will be. Anybody at Southampton yesterday could see we probably going to score by closing time. Very unlikely we will score against one of the top 5 clubs in Europe.

To me if we go down it won’t be from lack of effort from lambert I think he should be given at least the first dozen games next season the way he got two promotions on the trot for Norwich was mightily impressive And I believe If given a fair crack of the whip regarding team building I think he can take us right back up if we go down

Zouma will go back from his loan as will Jese Stafylidis unlikely to stay Badou? How many have a contract depending on Premiership football? It would be good to hang on to Shawcross, Bauer, Pieters, Bruno, Cameron, Diouf, Ramadan and Choupo Yes and Charlie Adam imo Fletcher, Saido, Ireland Wimmer Johnson Imbula need to move on Affelay? Bojan ? Muniesa? Tymon Souttar N’Goy Verlinden back from loans We have some younger players ready to be involved Crouch would probably move If we survive then a lot more investment needed

Did anyone see what the Sunday Times reporter said today? "Stoke manager Paul Lambert was clearly delighted with a hard-earned point and a battling performance from his side," How many of you agree that it was a "battling" performance? Not a lot?

I think you've made that point...so what's the practical solution now???....that's my 'hysterical' response and I have an answer.......get behind the manager......at least make an attempt to see some of the good things he is trying to accomplish......i.e not leaking goals, at least try to recognise the challenges he faces (lack of talent in the squad, very poor recruitment and fitness levels)...... that's the only answer imho Giving up on him after 6 games.....what's that going to achieve?...apart from short-term therapy, which is not healthy in the long run!

I was leading the chants at old Trafford. The crowd, home and away have been right behind him and the team. The crowd have delivered. Lambert hasn't. The practical solution is to hope for the best then get rid of him at the end of the season regardless of the outcome...exactly as the opening post and thread title suggest. Sorting out the defence by going 10 at the back v our direct competition answers nor solves anything. Defensively we didn't have too much of a problem when playing against our so called competition. Hes solved a problem that in reality didn't need fixing and he's done it by being even more negative than Tony pulis and producing worse results than the previous manager.
