The point is jeremy does this all year round meeting his constituents having his salary to local courses That's why he's a respected local mp So your bezzy mate Jezza does it and that’s ok but if a Conservative mp pops in to say hello to homeless people on Christmas Day it’s a photo opportunity. What bubbles you chat If you loom back on all my posts I have never said I like Jeremy Tell me which tories have done the sam6as him on a regular basis and which he given there wages away Leys face it jes a good mp for all those he represents

They are literally laughing us, they genuinely believe that we're all thick as mince ... I'm no fan of the Tories but it is true that the likely outturn for 2023 will be down by a third - thanks in part to a returns deal with Albania and to greater co-operation with the French. www.migrationwatchuk.org/channel-crossings-trackerIn achieving this it does show what meaningful diplomacy an co-operation can achieve and why Rwanda is just posturing I agree with you entirely Seymour but it's the presentation and spin and competence that I call into question I also agree the Rwanda element is pure Culture Wars with no intended positive outcome In 2015 Germany had a similar issue with Albanian Economic Migrants, Germany declared Albania a safe Country, entered into an agreement with Albania, who didn't want their fit young men emigrating, problem solved. Much later UK created a song and dance when the solution was obvious and had previously been successful in Germany and did eventually do the same as Germany In 2022 35% of "illegal immigrants" came from Albania in 2023 this was reduced to 3% which accounts for the entire reduction in numbers in 2023 So the total reduction of "illegal immigrants" was due to implementing a solution which had been tried and tested 7 years previously in Germany so no reason to create a drama In similar fashion Israel used Rwanda as a means to offshore processing of immigrants Almost 100% suffered refoulment i.e. left or were sent back to the Country they came from. Denmark also passed legislation to allow immigrants to be processed in Rwanda but never did so. This is the partial basis UK Government is proposing to send immigrates to Rwanda. The UK Supreme Court says Rwanda is not a safe Country to send Immigrants, but the UK Government is trying to pass a Law that says it is. If the Law if passed it also says that the UK Supreme Court can't hear a case of disagreement with the decision to send Immigrants to Rwanda It can only be challenged therefore at ECHR a Council of Europe Court not an EU Court, but who cares as long as the appearance is UK is "Taking back Control" It is simply a policy of the bereft of credibility to Gaslight the gullible one more time, it may be successful

Indeed BJR. The only thing I would disagree with Farage on there, is that Cleverly isn't actually a moron but rather, he is a very dangerous and deceitful scum bag, who knows that very often, the truth becomes irrelevant, if the lie can be spun successfully enough, initially. As demonstrated by the Sky report linked in the tweet.

Will she get an extended run, or revert to type?

Will she get an extended run, or revert to type? She’s become a very good constituency MP that is easy though from the back benches. One of the main reasons I voted for was I wasn’t happy with the tories parachuting some guy in from brum to contest the seat when Patterson left. This guys clwyd seat is getting abolished. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simon_BaynesHe is the new Tory candidate at the next election and has lots of historical roots to the area. In such a rural seat I expect the tories to have a great chance of getting in however Helen Morgan has proved popular Considering the “green” credentials of the liberal party they don’t half use a whole forest in leaflets. The amount of leaflets we got last time from the libs verged on harassment. I expect the same next time. ———- Funny story. So I go to vote in the bi-election. It’s pissing down and cold and the person in charge had bent election rules to allow the representatives of the party to come inside. Straight away as I walked in the liberal activist started an election plea to me. I said “ I feel dirty enough voting for you with out getting harassed on my way in”. I got them thrown out

Don’t be surprised if they are already ahead of the curve in some Tory but previous red wall normally Labour seats. That hurts Labour and strengthens the lib hand if it comes to a coalition. Starmers tactic of sitting on the fence until the last safe moment may not be the best.

Let's face it Labour by a landslide, just interesting to see who forms the opposition.

Electoral Reform Society
The government has finally published Liz Truss's resignation honours list, by publishing it at 10.30pm on a Friday night, in the hope that nobody would notice. It will feel like an insult to many to see Liz Truss handing out peerages to friends and supporters after her disastrously short stint as prime minister.
This additional batch of peerages means that the former prime minister has sent a new person to the Lords for every 1.5 days she was in office.
They can try and sneak out the list, but Liz Truss's appointments have thrust the squalid process of Lords appointments into the foreground, and in a way unlikely to enhance the upper chamber’s reputation with the public.
Because of these appointments, the whole country can see how Westminster actually works.
Will you add your name to share what you think about these honours? Say no to Liz Truss's Lords → We need to replace the bloated and unelected Lords with a smaller elected chamber where the people of this country, not former prime ministers, choose who sits in Parliament making the laws we all live under.
Best wishes, Darren Hughes, Chief Executive, Electoral Reform Society

Why would you do otherwise than sit on the fence? Tories can implode every day as far as I’m concerned.

Why the f has lizzy truss been allowed to give tory donors lordships Something we actually agree on. Nominations can be blocked by the HoL Appointments Commission . Boris Johnson had 8 nominations in his resignation list blocked by them.

The Silver vote is massive and continuing the triple lock, reduction in or even abolishing IHT, winter fuel allowance for all pensioners & other benefits aimed at them are huge vote winners. Not saying that Starmer has yet suggested there will be cuts, however Rayner's comment few months ago when asked if labour intended to continue the triple lock was non committal. The triple lock also includes all public service pension schemes.

After witnessing the last 13 years I think there may be a bit more apprehension from voters about voting themselves into an early grave.

I think the turn out will be low despite the craving for change, there'll be extensive voter apathy. There's no party I'm interested in voting for, they're all a bunch of chancers, grifters and spivs. If I can be arsed and they field a candidate I'd vote reform just to upset the apple cart and piss people off.
