The housing stuff will and already is coming through planning law and S106 agreements with developers. Not sure when the heat pumps kicks in but the outside HV Electric points will come into being in 2025. And they all lie all the time. All about votes and saying the right thing at the current time knowing full well they can reverse course when required. But I kind of disagree about the culture wars. The supposed left of society can't keep championing these causes like boys playing in girls sports and all the other crazy things we hear and then claim the supposed right of society is engaging in a culture war when they have an opposing view because they have real concerns that some of these things are harmful for society. Its a bit like slapping someone and then not expecting a fight. Takes two to tango as they say You see, this is where we differ. I don’t think the left do champion causes like you say they do. I think the right wing media finds someone that is, reports on it (even though it doesn’t impact 99.99% of the population in any way whatsoever), and then questions get asked of Labour politicians about it which are impossible to answer in a way that pleases everyone (like the definition of a woman), and then the right jump on it and get everyone to focus on that rather than the cost of living crisis! Fair enough. Different opinions. But yeah the constant bickering is tiring. I couldn't give a toss if a bloke wants to dress as a bird and be called Mary. But I don't want drag queens in sussies reading my 4 year old stories in class or at the local library. Are there any libraries left or have the tories shut them all down now 😆 But the specific define a woman one should not be controversial. Its simple biology. And deep down we all know it despite concerns about hurt feelings and offending people.

I think the definition of a woman question can only really be answered by those who are a certain gender but feel they are a different gender. The rest of us just don’t understand what that is like at all and so how can we really comment?

He's gone totally hatstand. He really does hold us all in utter contempt doesn't he? It's abundantly clear that he looks down on us all, genuinely believing we are all a bunch of moronic half-wits who will (I suppose probably reaffirmed by the Brexit campaign actually) swallow any old shit. Labour should do a counter video about their REAL policies ... Cut NHS waiting lists ... Gone! Clean British rivers ... Gone! Grow the economy ... Gone! Reduce debt ... Gone! Reduce immigration ... Gone! Safe schools for our children ... Gone! Get Rishi Sunak & the Tories ... Gone!

Be a vote winner 🏆 It would, but it'd also make a rod for their own back so that the subsequent administration would probably do the same (although I agree that with this lot in particular corruption runs right through them). The danger would be you'd end up in the same daft situation we have in the US where every modern president has impeachment proceedings attempted against them!

Not sure anyone ever said they were some kind of panacea, more that they were a better option, taking everything into account over the entire production and lifecycle of their existence. That RAC article appears to confirm that. Seems a pretty fair and balanced article by an organisation which, as far as I'm aware is not pilitically aligned and is simply trying to provide information about this aspect of car travel. Completely agree about having that open debate and that piece makes a decent contribution to it. I think it's pretty obvious that, overall, if you want to make your own contribution towards living a more sustainable life EV is the way to go. I don't know chief. It kind of reminds me of the whole George Floyd thing where we were told to bow at the blm alter or you're a racist. Or the covid debacle where it was follow the science. And if you don't or question it the shaming begins. Remember the killing your Gran narrative. And so it is again with all this climate stuff. Agree with what we say, the science is settled blah blah. People are getting wise to it and some quite rightly are beginning to question more deeply despite the shaming. And I for one am bloody glad they are. I mean how arrogant to say its settled science and that we have the 100% correct solution after all we've been through recently. Not buying it myself. Well, we'll see I guess. I'm quite happy to switch to an EV and to try to do my best in not polluting the environment, as much as I can avoid it, that is! It seems a no-brainer really. If we are heading for climate catastrophe then living in a more sustainable way will, hopefully, avoid the worst of it. If we're not, then doing so means you end up with a nice clean unpolluted environment to live in. Either way, sounds good. And better than gambling on the alternative, for sure. I'm not sure science is ever settled, it's not really how it works, but it's fair to say the consensus is that we're heading for some very unpleasant climate consequences and that there is still, just, some time to do something about it, not helped by Sunak's recent decision! I guess if it does all come crashing down in the future it'll be a leveller. It won't matter how well off you are when people are scrabbling over the last tin of beans in the supermarket. You can't eat money.

Thats rich about coming back with insults... Where have I insulted you? I ask again, why do you disagree with Bryant for saying the government should stick to the ministerial code and be accountable for their actions and policies? Surely everyone can agree on that as a very basic principle for our leaders? I wasn't referring to you... Bryant is an absolute knob. Of course they should stick to the ministerial code but hanging him up there as someone to follow is just wrong imo

What is the right thing? Your opinion? His opinion? It's not "his" opinion, he's clearly stating the principles of a parliamentary democracy. Now you either knew that and decided to ignore it, or you hate the man so much you throw out cheap insults yet again. You've got form for this behaviour. Irony klaxon

It has no impact on the vast majority and of people’s lives so why care about it.

That cost lives and billions too If you're not bothered either way, that's your prerogative I guess but this is blatant corruption, where decisions have been taken to deliberately rob the public purse, in order to syphon off money to their mates. A few very public prosecutions might make individuals in the future, think twice about trying it again.

I really don’t care to much for politics😉 But does anyone really think things will be different under a labour government? Way I see it is, the country is being driven through the mud in every way you could imagine and as it stands Starmer and co seem to pretty much agree with the government on most issues unless I’ve missed something?

For me. I think if we vote conservative again as a country then we're basically saying we think they've done a good job and the current state of affairs is acceptable. I can't say I'm confident a labour majority would solve the issues. But I can't personally vote for the current regime. I'd rather go further right and give reform a try than stick with this lot.

However yes I agree I've no idea how it feels to be wired so that you believe you are a different sex to the one that your equipment would have you believe. It must be very strange I agree and no I've no idea how that must feel.

Or what if they refine the ICE vehicles to incredibly low emissions. And what happens when they perfect the battery tech and loads of poor sods have spuzzed 50k on a car that overnight becomes almost worthless. But this climate panic is near on forcing people to show their virtue. It got me and im a cynic. So your lets just go right now could result in billions wasted on shyte that becomes redundant. Patience. Kipling wrote a poem about this, keeping calm whilst those all around lose their minds. Summat like that anyway. I dunno chief 😕
