I'm up for that! A nice run around Chatterley Whitfield... Get it sorted 🙂 Change it to a brisk walk at about 10 am and I'll come along to chaperone 😃 You could have a coffee after at the DIY SOS drop in centre.

Sunak insulting the public intelligence again. Says he's committed to net zero by 2050, but isn't going to take the steps needed to get there.
Whatever your position on the feasibility of the objectives (plenty of Johnson in there) you would need to be as thick as shit to think that somehow a future government will recover lost ground.
It's perfectly clear that Sunak believes that with all his wealth he is entitled to have a country to play with as he chooses. He has no vision beyond his being PM. Devoid of principles , he is racing the UK to the bottom.

I think alot of people on here and in general cannot afford (me included) electric vehicles and heat pumps in their homes so something has to give somewhere, surely cannot force this on people.

And the biggest joke of all this is that some of the main cheerleaders of this net zero nonsense are on the left, you know, the ones who're supposed to be on the side of the poor and the working class.

Kicking the can down the road will make it even more costly when we are, ultimately, forced to confront the reality of doing nothing (or less) right now. The costs will increase in literal financial terms and in environmental and societal terms for future generations. Unless we think it's all going to just go away and it'll all be fine, which seems to be the mindset of a lot of people.

I'm not sure what you mean specifically by "net zero nonsense" but if you don't think a hi-tech green economy with highly skilled manufacturing jobs in areas like Stoke-on-Trent wouldn't benefit the poor and working class then I don't know what else to say.................

The UK imports its wind turbine blades. Skilled manufacturing roles would help the working class no end. Sunk cannot or will not enact this. Because he doesn't care and frankly, I don't think he's that bright. Thank you and good night.

The green agenda is the correct path to take, cheaper and healthier. I'ts a win win situation. Cheaper for who? Certainly not the people it will affect most. Why have the people got to pay for it? Why don’t we push on with levying the costs onto industry and let them and their shareholders take a hit for a change? Why don’t we tax them properly and use that money to reinvest into the green agenda? It doesn’t have to be us who pays, we pay enough already.

Don't you think that if you push the costs there way, they will not then just put up the price of the end product and who pays for that? Us?

You are just delaying the inevitable and when it does kick in, don't you realise you WILL be even worse off because you've delayed it (tighter time frame, inflation etc), because it is going to happen.

If energy is cheaper to produce it should therefore be cheaper to sell. Here's a thought....we could have a national energy supply company perhaps?

Maybe so but i still maintain where i live there would never be enough charging points so no i don't think it will happen not as those who live in utopia think it will, it will end up being a rich mans hobby same as flying etc that's how they want it.
