Just watching on catch up, he just refuses to let people speak! Absolute pisser when she basically told him to shut the fuck up, he looked like a child that'd just had his favourite toy taken away, his bottom lip was quivering

Did Winny mean genuin refugees fleeing war and government oppression or those "fleeing" countries simply because its a better life in UK where they will be looked after for free. I don’t think he did. I think some can’t see the wood for the trees in the illegal immigration issue…….we need immigration for sure for a whole host of legitimate reasons and to protect genuine refugees from oppression and war but it must be done in a controlled way. I don't necessarily support the way that Braverman is doing this but support the need to do something to prevent illegal immigration. There must be another way and I think that there will be a rethink following protest from back benchers, opposition and general public.

Listening to some of the audience I think more and more people have clicked on to the fact that this is mainly a distraction. There was a bloke asking what else the Tories are going to stand on in the next election after listing their multiple failures and he was bang on, this is pretty much all they have left.

Ensure safe passage and rapid processing. Stop bombing the shit out of these places as well.

How would you "ensure safe passage and rapid processing" and what would you do with those who failed the processing system? It would appear that the majority of illegal immigrants would fail just based on their country of origin.

Fair enough but you haven’t answered the question….what would you do with those who fail the U.K. asylum system processing system.? According to UNHCR every country has the right to deport those who don't qualify for protection as refugees & will not receive refugee status.

I don't think as many people fail the system as you think. The conservatives currently accept a higher percentage of asylum seeker applications in over 30 years since the last Conservative government. Anyhow for those who are rejected they can still remain in their accommodation for 3 weeks. After this you can then claim to remain in the UK under section 4 through a variety of reasons and continue to receive support while you intend to leave the UK. I don't believe anything in the tories plans address this. As for my opinion. I think people seeking asylum is a global issue rather than a UK and I don't think any UK government tory or Labour will be able to effictevely resolve the issue to the satisfaction of the majority. I do however welcome any plans or bills which look to resolve the issue. However creating a culture war over a policy which isn't legal and will never be passed does not help to solve the situation in any shape or form and simply throws fuel on the fire.

So the simple solution is to allow people to apply for asylum from abroad. Those who need sanctuary will be given it. Those who don’t meet the criteria will continue coming by boat and if we have the safe and legal route available to all, it means we can then immediate deport those coming by boat to Rwanda, if they do indeed continue to come. It is so simple to deal with the issue but the government chooses not to.

Process the claim within 28 days by funding it properly. Simple

Seems the money tree has grown a few more branches suddenly.
Anyway to put the amount into perspective:
Fun Fact: The UK has spent more money housing asylum seekers in hotels in 2023 than it is giving to France in this deal. The proposed bill also does nothing to address the current backlog of asylum seekers which are costing us 7 million a day.

Macron offered to host British processing centres on French soil but we turned him down. Now think about why that might be?

That is absolutely staggering, I wouldn't be surpised if Attenborough tells them to go and fuck themselves and never works for the BBC again.
To think that the corporation is actually being run by an individual who has made large donations to the Tory party.
Absolutely shameful.

"it was a one off"
far more reprehensible from Fiona Bruce than Gary'd valid opinion. Also, covering it up with anonymous 'friends' quote, when it's blatantly untrue, as from Boris' mother herself "He hit me many times over many years"
