Are your relatives in the Blue Light scheme for NHS staff etc? Pretty sure it's 10% off in Asda, not sure about other supermarkets. It is. Soon to come to an end I believe....... To be fair, it does give you 25% off some mobile phones! 😉

The answer is who knows? I certainly don't, I also think it's personally just another politicised point to hammer the government with? Lol It seems you didn't have an answer after all then, because you can't construct one that fits with your political view, so it looks like you initially made stuff up and now can't defend it. What is my political view ? Another one who thinks and trys to put words into other peoples mouths.

Perhaps have a chat with him, he'll make shit up about people, call them racist and how he's worked them out, when in reality he knows nothing at all about anyone on here and wouldn't dare broach some of the things he says face to face. Cowardly. Anyway keep making your mind up from posts on a forum 👍

If we're going to talk about making stuff up, you made shit up about people that didn't need food banks suddenly en masse starting to use them just because the statistics show there's been a significant increase, it was the most unlikely explanation for reasons already covered but you stuck with it.

People on here are generally very critical of Nicola Sturgeon. But she is far more sensible and progressive than the Westminster government. There is a cost of living crisis and she is today changing income tax rates to add 1% on income tax on income over £32k, and another 1% on income over £125k. She is also making small benefit changes. The outcome will be average incomes falling by £210, the poorest tenth gain £580. At least she is trying to help those who need it most. In my view it should be coming from a capital wealth tax rather than income tax rises for middle earners. What are you on about? She's an absolute farce of a politician. Recent highlights below. As such a die hard remainer, don't you think her view of parting with the UK is a little hasty? I think it stinks of hypocrisy for any brexiteer to oppose Scottish Nationalism (unless of course they have changed their minds about brexit!). I don’t want Scotland to become independent. I can understand why many Scots want independence from Westminster and would prefer to align themselves to the EU instead. What’s wrong with taxing richer people a bit more to help support the poorest 10%? That seems like a very sensible policy to me. Why do you oppose it? Or do you oppose anything that Sturgeon does because it comes from her, regardless as to what it is?

Wouldn’t work, the man’s an expert and “we’ve” had enough of those now…. Yes, we wouldn’t want anyone who knows what they are doing to do what they are good at. For example, I wouldn’t want a surgeon performing surgery on me. I’d much prefer a non-expert.

That is now a 32% pay rise for MPs since 2010. Looking forward to seeing the disgust of the members on here who think someone on 30k wanting a pay increase is greedy. They're going to be absolutely raging when they find out MPs on near 90k are getting another pay increase, brining their total pay increase since 2010 to near 32%.

If you take away the percentages which are very misleading as it makes it seem fairer. So in real money terms.
MPs get over 20k more since 2010. Nurses get 3k more since 2010.
The unions are going to love this. Absolute cheek of this government to give themselves pay rises but refuse to sit down and talk with nurses about their pay.
Away and fuck.

The government is responsible for how they spend tax payers money though and there have been alot of dubious decisions in recent years as well as terribly managed public services which have led to this point. If it's not the governments fault then who do you hold to account? Or do you just accept that everythings got alot shitter the last 13 years through chance and that the governments decisions have had no impact? I lived in Coventry for 5 years up until 2017 which is cheaper than Birmingham. A 2 bedroom house in a student area back then was £900. So I doubt those figures are too far off the mark. I also work in IT and you're correct alot of people in IT can earn alot of money. What do you do out of interest? (sorry if nosey, you don't need to answer) Absolutely not defending the government on anything. The past 13 years has been politically incompetent on every level. This, however, is about people taking responsibility for their own lives and understanding why a person can't live on 30k a year. Ultimately that's where the left and right disagree, hence we vehemently disagree 😊 Government safety net should be there for those exceptional circumstances, not because people can't live on £600 to £1000 a month of day to day spend. That's a lifestyle choice. I'm on the sales side mate, you? If the children aren’t in school, childcare costs will eat up the £1000 a month for two kids. That’s if the parent wants to work full time. No money for food. No money for council tax. No money for energy.

And your position is people earning 30k and under shouldn't have children?.. even by your standards that's vile. I tell you what's more vile. Parents who have children they know they can't afford. If you want to live a lifestyle on 30k a year that means you cannot afford to have children (totally fair enough) , surely as a normal, rational, moral human being, you have to make the adult decision as to whether kids are for you. I am totally amazed (although given you normally struggle to put a sentance together, I'm not amazed), anyone would think otherwise. Stop relying on the state to support your lifestyle. At least after all your fake tears over those poor children during the pandemic, everyone can see what you're really about.

Yeah I'd be far better placed on the moral high ground if I believed in banning education in the name of a virus children were largely immune to and having a family I can't afford. Literally what planet are you on? Even those on the left (most posters on this thread) must wince everytime they see a yeswilko post.

My Son/Daughter in Law pay £800 a month for their sons childcare, me and the wife are seriously looking at reducing our work days so we can have our grandson in order to help them out. What’s pissing them also is their son is always laid up or has a sickness bug of some form resulting in them taking time off work or having to book leave, families are taking their kids in regardless if they’re sick as they can’t afford to be off work and they’re passing germs on.

Education was obliterated off the back of our absurd lockdown strategy. You know it was. That's before we even get into the forced masking up of children in the name of said virus they were mostly immune to.
