Deja vous. We're now back to austerity with Hunt. Tighten your belts lads and let's create extra parking spaces for the ambulances. They'll look like that Russian convoy above Kiev when winter really hits.

The problem is there are little or no savings to be made each local council has had there budgets slashed
Here in havering the council has just become independent with labour support there discovering bad practices dodgey contracts and companies employed because of their links to Tory councillors .they cant even afford a simple poster campaign to cut down on crime
There also discovering reports the Tories suppressed eg ones that show discrimination of all types are rife within the council
So at local level your seeing a replica of what is going on at national level with corruption and racism rife

There are always more cuts that can be made. Not without consequences to people's well-being, but that is of lesser importance if you're a Tory. If people worked a bit harder they wouldn't have to rely on public services, they could pay directly for whatever services they need, so it's their fault really that they no longer have access to them. Cuts to local government services are popular with Tory central because it pushes the focus out into the local administrations rather than Westminster.

When Jeremy Hunt is seen as "the sane one in the room, the safe pair of hands", you know it's the last days of Rome type stuff. He is an amazing example of someone who keeps failing upwards. He’ll eventually lead the party. Though to be fair, I don’t recall that much support for the junior doctors at the time, so his failures are easily swept under a rug. Think my favourite was when he was foreign secretary on an arse kissing visit to China - he somehow managed to piss off the Chinese diplomats and his own wife, who is also Chinese, simultaneously by referring to them both being Japanese before quickly correcting himself!

So, he knows the price of everything and the value of nothing...where have we come across that approach before?

She needs to cling on for another 80 days, or precisely twice what's she's managed already (shudder) to avoid becoming the shortest serving PM in British history. If she does go in the next week or two, that's a record like Derby's lowest points total in the Prem...going to take some beating. In fact, I'd say Derby's record is much more likely to be beaten. Only a PM who keels over from a heart attack within days of accepting the monarch's offer to form a government is likely to do so. I thought Bozo had done well to fuck things up so comprehensively in just a couple of years, but this is spectacular stuff. Looking at her ability and performances since she's been firmly in the public eye, you have to wonder how on earth she got even as far as Secretary of State for anything...?

The response to 2008 wasn’t just austerity it was record low interest rates. It was the tightening of public spending (while reducing government’s borrowing costs) at the same time encouraging private borrowing and thus private investment.
We’re now in a costly war with no control over energy prices. While having to pivot our economy from our largest trading bloc to …somewhere else.
This recession will make 2008 look like the warm up event.

I understand that Liz has been terrible but we can’t forget what Johnson did. I don’t think they will have destroyed it but will have resigned them to a decade in the opposition while silencing their voice. You can’t be an effective opposition on the back of this mess, they’re just not credible in anyway. It would be like listening to Ian Brady give advice on childcare.
