Kwarteng gone. Clock ticking on Truss.
Well, Tory supporters, are you actually going to accept the thread is correctly titled and the day you gave this Tory party an 80 seat majority you did this country massive and lasting damage?
Embarrassing.

From Sky News:
"The chancellor, Kwasi Kwarteng, will not be standing next to the prime minister, Liz Truss, when she gives her press conference this afternoon."
Sources have said “it looks as if the deal has been done”.

There is a position in Chess called Zugswang which means its your move and your opponent has put you in a situation although not checkmate any move you make will put you in a worse position You have to choose the least worst option for your next move Liz has been fully "Zugswanged" Think Truss is playing Numberwang.

Zahawi?! Please let the opposition benches start singing the okey-cokey every time he gets up to speak! Laughable.

Correct decision to get rid - but at what cost to our economy to have him in the first place?
Appreciate its not just him but even afterwards and the damage caused, he refused to budge and his comments did further damage (towing the leaders line etc.)
This may save Truss, but again at what cost & detriment to us…

If it wasn’t for the fact that they have decimated this country in the process, this Tory implosion would be fantastic viewing.
Get these bunch of cunts gone for good.

Kwarteng must be personally finished as a front line minister in future after this. It’s just bewildering that a government can’t get basic stuff or properly think out a strategic vision. The Labour benches I suspect will not be much better when they get elected (and they will ). Years ago there were politicians from all sides of the house you respected (not necessarily liked) and had real talent, now there is a dearth of such talent. People like Kemi Bardenoch are touted as talent because she’s effectively not afraid of espousing Tory values - big deal! This country does not deserve to be represented by this talentless, self serving House of Commons.

How on earth can she sack him and remain in office?! 'All' that he has done is deliver on her own dipshitted, dimwitted, illiterate, hard right wing economic programme.
She will surely be gone in a matter of days.

The mess we’ve been left in since 2019 (not that the prior years were any better) is astounding.
It’s just sad to see what was once a great country and a power on the world stage reduced to being a second rate failure. The only thing we’ve done right is our support for Ukraine. Everything else has been an absolute shambles, top to bottom.
Fantasy economics, fantasy politics, fantasy outcomes.
Jesus Christ.

Three of the last four tory chancellors are also 3 of the 4 shortest serving chancellors in history. The only other chancellor amongst the shortest serving is Ian McLeod who unfortunately passed away shortly after taking the role.
Seems the Tory's can't be trusted to run the economy. They can't even be trusted to appoint a chancellor.

Up until this point it was just scurrilous rumour, but now it's official.
Lizz fucked Kwasi.
Watching her blame this on him later will be car crash TV. Can't wait.
