Won't be long till there's a u-turn on this Rwanda deal. They're gonna be sending their asylum seekers to the UK instead lol. And you boys will welcome them with open arms whilst the bill to look after them grows by the hour.

Typical left? This ain't a left v right thing buddy. This is about a corrupt goverment. If it was left v right then the right wing then the Torys would still have over 50% of people intending to vote for them as per the polls in 2020. Pretty sure that number is below 20% now. This is more crystal glasses (who can see through the corruption) v mugs. And at the minute you're the sports direct one lol Polls mean jack shit 2 years away from a GE... Indeed they don't, and it's only 18 months since the Tories were way ahead and doing great in the local elections. Since then though it seems that a sizeable portion (but clearly by no means all) of the electorate have finally woken up. Can only see some terrible developments in the war turning it round for them from here. Even the old trick of changing the leader just has people rolling their eyes as they recognise the options offer nothing for them. The best option for the country now is the collapse of the government and an early general election before the Tories complete their smash-and-grab raid, giving the people the opportunity to wipe as many of these appalling wreckers as possible from the political map.

Well that depends if you base you're vote on a parties actions, performance and policies. Or their name. Those who do the former seem to have deferred. Those who do the latter, like yourself, are looking a bit silly defending the indefensible time and time again. Give me 5 reasons why anyone should be voting tory next election. Bet you can't. Dear me, show me where I've defended. Why would I want to give you 5 reasons when I don't give a shite about either party currently Currently being the operative word. Considering you don't know who the Lib Dem later is and that your feelings are pretty clear on Labour. You don't appear to be climate minded and probably think its a hoax so you're not supporting the greens. You're not in Scotland, Wales or NI so. None of their parties. So which parties are we left with that knype could vote for? Conservative, UKIP, Reform (looool), BNP. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to work it out. Especially given your refusal to criticise the most incompetent and corrupt goverment the UK has ever seen.

And to add. My ancestors are British immigrants in Northern Ireland. So of course I'd welcome others.
Or do you want to send all the unionists in Northern Ireland to Rwanda too for being immigrants.

It’s accepted wisdom you recruit based on attitude and risking their life to get here would be good enough for me.

The Pound's doing well again! Andrew Bailey is a massive issue. Only increasing rates by 0.5 looked silly at the time, it looks ridiculous especially if he had foresight of the plan from the government. He should be sacked as soon as possible.

In yet another massive U turn, there will be a windfall tax on energy companies. Not on gas producers. On renewable electricity generators!!! I am not making this up: www.theguardian.com/business/2022/oct/11/power-giants-to-face-windfall-tax-after-all-as-liz-truss-delivers-u-turnTruss needs to change the law so the price of electricity is not linked to the price of gas, and so renewable electricity is not priced by the cost of gas. This will bring the price of electricity down and lower the cost to the taxpayer of her energy price cap plan. She also needs to bring in a proper windfall tax on coal and gas.

Did you hear his interview this morning? Christ it would have been more stabilising if Corporal Jones had been on urging the markets 'Don't Panic!' At this rate wouldn't be surprised if by the end of the week the pound is trading as low as one and a half against the Chomp!

Immigration is another one. What's your next fictional story from the daily mail to give us all a giggle? Immigration is probably at an all time high, but we don't really know as when we were in the EU millions of EU citizens came to this country and they didn't need visas. Immigration is very high to fill much needed jobs, otherwise they don't get a work visa, unless they are from Ireland, Gibralta, Hong Kong, etc. Immigration is high because the number of students coming to study in the UK is at an all time record. Immigration is high because lots of people are leaving their homeland to join relatives who live in this country. On the question of race and the fact that we are all immigrants if you go back far enough in your ancestry, I was watching a documentary yesterday on the ancient Britons. It was pointed out that the Romans brought many ethnic groups to this country from all over the Roman Empire. The presenter pointed out that Africans and Syrians arrived on our shores before the "English", I.e. Angles and Saxons.

This is a sobering thread from Murphy, (whether you rate him or not) saying that Bailey must be defeated by Kwarteng and Truss (even though he openly despises them) and suggesting that things wont be much better under Labour. An old fashioned City coup with vicious asuterity the ultimate price. Sounds like some very depressing times ahead.

If you look at the trendline from the start of the year when the pound was worth $1-35, parity looks on the cards for around the new year. That assumes nothing changes with the economy/govt policy/BoE interventions to prop it up. We're already hearing noises off about Kwarteng having to reverse all of his mini-budget tax cuts.
