Sorry I might not be understanding what you're saying. She did advise people to take on more hours or change jobs. She didn't say anything explicit about inflation but she's advising people to get more money to cope with inflation. I don't think I'm making too big a leap to say that asking everyone to get work more hours or increase their pay will only make inflation worse. I'm just trying to highlight that some people aren't in a position to simply change jobs and suggesting this minister has many benefits that might mean they don't understand the day-to-day troubles some people face, while also highlighting an economic floor to her argument. Sorry, I think I understand your point now. I suppose much of it dependents on how mobile we believe some of our labour market to be. I think that while certain sections are mobile I think that some of the lower paying jobs might give people the time or freedom they need to easily move onto something else. She absolutely did. FYD is gaslighting again. he's getting worse than chemical ali

An MP that has an onsite creche, is allowed to claim a second home through expenses is telling people all you need to do to get more money is change jobs. Another one that went to the right University who seemingly is totally detached from reality, quelle surprise. A lot of the MPs seem to be suffering from split personality disorder; on the one hand advising people just to make more money or get better jobs but in other interviews fearing for inflation. Actually she didn't and its incredibly disingenuous of Sly Views to claim she did say this, what she actually said is even quoted in the article but hey all aboard the outrage bus. Soggy tena ladies everywhere…..

Rishi Sunak to weaken City regulation in post-Brexit nod to Tory donors linkIt's been highlighted on the Brexit thread before now. You can only wonder what lessons have been learnt from the previous de-regulation of the City, which, arguably, resulted in austerity, populism, Brexit, Boris Johnson and the colossal mess the country is currently in. De-regulation and self-regulation rarely work (for anyone other than shareholders, that is).

I reckon Lord Bruce Grocottt would welcome it He's the one (quite rightly imo) trying to rid HOL of hereditary peers. www.electoral-reform.org.uk/a-labour-peer-is-tying-to-abolish-hereditary-peers-again/He's a Stoke City season ticket holder - I was watching a HOL discussion on hereditary peers last year and during one of his speeches he said how he was used to disappointment because he was a Stoke fan and had a season ticket

The vast majority will already measure it, they just clearly don’t want to the water companies (again most of them foreign owned paying pensions for other countries) to give them the data

It’s disingenuous. That said, what the minister said was garbage. What she needed to say is what the Government is intending to do in the short term. The long term stuff she spoke about is just waffle. The journalist, as is the wont of journalist, saw an opportunity to twist things to create some good headlines. Shit job all round really.

Why do you think Tim Loughton MP felt the need to apologise on behalf of his colleague on Politics Live Today ? He went on to say her comments were as equally stupid and crass as his ex colleague Edwina Currie who had urged old people to wear Woolie Hats to keep warm It's hardly the responsibility of Journalists to prevent MPs making idiotic comments

That's an interesting observation and I realise you claim to be apolitical So in your view a Tory MP who was ambushed not by a cake, but apparently by a Journalist actually said something which was both offensive and condescending, but in your view, she should really have said something entirely different to what she actually did say, OK I get you. While on the other hand you consider her fellow Tory MP, who called out her comments to be offensive and inappropriate, to be a Worm. I belive the General Term for such thinking is best described in the Acronym DARVO (Deny, Attack and Reverse Victim and Offender)
