What an utterly laughable thread this has turned into... @other Members. Don't give the satisfaction of biting the bait. If knype has something to say he can say it. Let's not have another roundabout of knype trying to fish for a reaction and then claim everyone is bullying him.

But it's just easy to read how it all pans out, seen it too many times before already and it's just boring now.

On a different tack we are fortunate enough to be on a break in the Basque Country at the moment. Like on trips last year to France and Italy we have noticed how compared to the UK there is a significant lack of potholes and litter on roads, just saying. Thinking of going there next year, never been to that part but the cuisine looks amazing. I try and speak Spanish as much I can over there but do they speak it in the Basque region? I'm not even going to try and learn Basque as it's one of the hardest languages apparently

Fair enough.

WOW, That's an interesting piece of Racial Profiling One in five people in UK live in Poverty 14.4 Million of which more than 5 Million are Children Perhaps you have been isolated from cost of living increases, but more than One Million have been added to the Poverty "Statistic" , I prefer to say People, in the last year www.statista.com/topics/3809/poverty-in-the-uk/#topicOverview obviously you have never worked in retail eastern Europeans have always targeted baby milk.. heath and beauty products etc our smack heads like robbing cheese meat alcohol etc I'm only saying what I've seen working in retail for years... No I haven't worked in retail nor am I doubting your personal experience but it doesn't warrant Racial Profiling using the isolated examples you site out of context The vast majority of cases are British Nationals already on the Breadline and subjected to 13 years of Austerity have been pushed over the edge by more recent Cost of Living increases particularly in Food and Energy. The number of people using Food Banks is now 3 Million increased from 61 Thousand in 2010 www.statista.com/statistics/382695/uk-foodbank-users/You are merely parroting a tactic used by this Conservative Government of being distressed with the Mouse in the corner while ignoring the Elephant in the room.

Not if they're smart. Throw any earnings in the higher bracket into a pension and you will pay 0% tax. It used to be that there was a 40k per year limit and 1.07 million per lifetime before paying tax on contributions. Not anymore. You can now pay 60k a year tax free and near 2 million in a lifetime and pay zero tax. Use your head and you'll not pay much tax at all. A good example would be Rishi Sunak funnily enough. He earns substantially more than Starmer but pays a lower percentage of tax. Why? Loopholes. Like this lovely one Sunak introduced in March during a cost of living crisis.

The scenery and the food are amazing.

We spend quite a bit of time in SW France and can confirm. Compared with round here, the roads are like snooker tables. Those pesky taxes - being used for the common good! Btw if you find yourself leaving somewhere with a single entrance (for example a cinema or a busy bar at closing time) be careful, and especially if you don't like being squashed up with other people. You might find that they have put all their Basques in one Exit. (Hand me that coat, could you...?)...

When I was a lad cheese was a luxury. Blimey we must have been well off! My mum was always using the cheese grater in the 50s. Cheese and onion was a regular meal. Often had to wait in the grocers while they cut the cheese with a wire and patted the butter. The joys of powdered milk in those blue tins, tea leaves, and Camp coffee!!!

If Sunak does not sack Braverman today it will show just how weak his position as leader of the rag bag of factions that the Tory party has become is. Braverman’s rant yesterday at an event organised by an American organisation called the Burke’s Foundation (you just cannot make this stuff up!) made no sense on any level and it was supposed to be her opening bid to replace Sunak as leader. She out-Abbotted Abbott And they get all upset when people call them fascists. Massive difference between patriotism and nationalism, massive difference. This nonsense needs to stop before it gets out of hand!
I've been dreaming of a time when, To be English is not to be baneful, To be standing by the flag, not feeling shameful, Racist or racial
Irish blood English heart, This I'm made of, There is no one on earth I'm afraid of, And I will die with both of my hands untied
I've been dreaming of a time when, The English are sick to death of Labour, and Tories, And spit upon the name Oliver Cromwell, And denounce this royal line that still salute him, And will salute him Forever

www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-65607962What an incredibly misleading article from the BBC this evening. There aren't any new hospitals being built. What next. An article from the BBC discussing 10k new council houses built because they've installed new windows in them?

An article from the BBC discussing 10k new council houses built because they've installed new windows in them? The BBC have an obligation to report the News impartially not create news. I think the article is faithful to that principle, in fact it is bordering on satire in its catalogue of what was promised and what has been delivered The BBC has to rely on the intelligence, often misplaced, of the reader in interpreting the information provided
