Yes, he's a racist and I despair at how far we seem to be heading backwards with our political discourse. 10 or even 30 years ago, the likes of Anderson, Braverman and Rees-Mogg would have been suspended by the Tory party for sharing a platform with somebody who espouses such hateful rhetoric but nowadays it seems to be completely tolerated. It's sickening.

@other Members. Don't give the satisfaction of biting the bait. If knype has something to say he can say it. Let's not have another roundabout of knype trying to fish for a reaction and then claim everyone is bullying him. I'd suggest blocking him, means you can't see his rants unless you click to see. But yes, ignore at all times. Ah bless, you ok hun?

What I don’t get from the water companies is that they have apologised, said they will invest billions in improving the infrastructure (all good), but said this will be funded not from their record dividends year on year, but by increasing costs for consumers.
The government should be recovering/taxing dividends to fund all improvements and costs should not be passed on to consumers.
Absolute disgrace. Totally the fault of the tories and their obsession with foreign state ownership and (usually) foreign and tax free private ownership of our state assets.
Water is a fundamental necessity. Not a luxury. It should be nationalised.

Every bit as murky as all the other dealings this bunch are involved in. I'd be interested to find out at what point these bribes actually get called out for what they are, 'donations' my arse 🤡

Did it represent a significant proportion of her overall campaign? Personally, I feel that the best way to remove these things are to have a centralized fund from the govt that is evenly split across candidates. That funding is the only funding that can then be used for the campaign trail and any MP who breaks it should be removed. How much do they really need?! Just do it online.

We may have looked upon citizens of Developing Country Regimes pityingly for the corruption by its leaders We should be more vigilant at home. This depressing story has all the hallmarks of the PPE Scandal on Steroids It has everything, hundreds of millions of Public Money passed to dodgy business cronies by dodgy Politicians. At its Genesis is PM Rishi Sunak and his obsession with Freeports as his raison d'etre for Brexit, although it was quite permissible within EU. The aforementioned Dodgy Businessmen have apparently invested only £0.5M and already extracted tens of £Millions and been granted 90% of a "Joint" venture Company which Public Money of £250/350 Million has been invested. A separate part of this dodgy deal is that the businessmen have the option to cherrypick and buy the freehold of any part of the 4,500 acre site when it chooses and then lease to prospective industries. This part of the process has been delayed because reputable Companies like Shell want clarification how the dodgy businessmen acquired these options as they don't want to risk their reputation and get embroiled in scandal All of these transactions have been conducted in secrecy, without tendering or documentation by the Local Authority or specifically Mayor Ben Houchen We also have the Paradox that the overarching aim of the Freeport was to be a Green Beacon yet to date all it has managed to do is dredge the Tees resulting in killing off thousands of fish and crustaceans which they dispute and blame on algae We can't leave Central Government out of this debacle as the granting of Freeport licences was based on Local Authorities submitting competitive bids. Tyneside (Labour Controlled) came third overall in the assessment but was not granted a Licence, its neighbour Teesside (Conservative Controlled) scored much lower but was granted a licence Another twist in this saga is that Freeports are notorious worldwide as places where smuggling occurs because inspection is light touch, its the whole objective. The Dodgy Businessmen have the licence to manage the Port. They in turn have appointed a well known Drug Gang Leader (his son is currently serving 11 1/2 years in prison for drug smuggling) to manage the Security at the Port, what could possibly go wrong For those that like their news via Podcast the attached (about 20 minutes) is very good, Private Eye have been covering this story for months As I said at the outset this whole saga is depressing, but it is being carried out in plain sight. Questions have even been raised in Parliament yet there seems to be no Investigative Agency in this Country with the Power, Resources and Willingness to aggressively pursue and prosecute outright corruption. When in rare cases the NCA gets involved it takes years and the Money and People have flown. m.soundcloud.com/privateeyenews/page-94-the-private-eye-podcast-north-and-south

Now the crooks in Westminster want to leave the European Convention on Human Rights.
I'm guessing some won't understand and think it's all foreigners controlling Great Britain again so this is good, but this wasn't voted for, and IF it goes ahead, kiss goodbye to holiday pay, redundancy pay and a whole host of other things which vastly improve your life.

Yes I did ponder on using that word in conjuction with Shell 🤣 but it tends to prove my point how the overall scheme is steeped in corruption Well done. There is a catalogue of shady Saudi, Abu Dhabi, Qatari, Eastern European Companies/Characters with nefarious backgrounds sniffing around this project eager to wash some money with light touch regulation

Does she not realise how ridiculous her argument is? Indeed she's presented a perfectly valid argument for renationalisation. If the water companies are losing money AND having to pump shit into our rivers as a result, then they've completely failed in both their business model and in their obligation to the public. I distinctly remember one of the 'benefits' the Tories claimed would come with water privatisation would be that in the future, the public would be protected from future infrastructure costs. Yet here we are down the line, the (mostly foeign) fat cats have got (much) fatter, we've got our rivers full of shit and it's us that's ultimately going to have to pay to sort it out. Privatisation working absolutely perfectly for the rich and working terribly for the rest of us.

Whether anything would come of speaking to them, I don’t know. Agreed. There are enough things to think about Sunak's tax and wealth affairs and his party as a whole, without making something out of a fairly uncontroversial set of replies.
