Joselu scored one of the luckiest goals in history today. Bollox. He was in the right place at the right time. It's what strikers do. It was jammy as. He was dithering around not knowing what to do until the defender kicked it into his shin and it bobbled past a wrong footed keeper. If it was scored for us it would be a screamer. As it was dead jacksie.

Very flukey......but luck is either with you or not. He'd have got a right bollocking for cocking that up if it hadn't bounced of him as he was taking so much time to decide what to do.

He might end up doing a Keith Bertshin. 2 in the first season, 19 in the second. I remember he used to go mental when he scored. Haha, yeah he did. Remember that goal he scored at the Hawthorns when he ran the length of the pitch and leapt onto the fencing to celebrate with the Stokies. We were 4-0 down at the time! Hahaha!!! I remember that......totally surreal!!!

The Potters did not have a designated penalty taker on the field and Berahino revealed he had risked Xherdan Shaqiri's wrath by stepping up to the plate. "Of course I would have taken another one but I don't want to be greedy," Berahino said. "I know Shaqiri wanted to kill me over that one; I had to fight Shaqiri to take that one. I am struggling to see any circumstances under which Shaq would let Berahino take another penalty.

Only Stoke fans can whine after winning, that's what I call hilarious This isn't whining, it's constructive criticism! And what is constructive about it ? Destructive maybe !!

I judged Sidibe on his scoring record so it's only fair I do the same for Saido.
He has time yet, but I'm not impressed at all to be honest.

agree Shaq should be designated taker and captain should enforce this on the pitch
but..
anyone want to give any credit to Forster for saving the penalty? He saved 3 last season including 1 from Harry Kane this thread would have got to 3 pages if Shaq had taken the penalty and it was saved

Whilst wehave a two week break does anyone else thing he should be one of the over age players in the cup tie this week , and maybe even in the odd under 23 game just to get him on the pitch as much as possible in the hope he gets some chances

Wonder if he will figure in Chekatrade tomorrow. And if he scores does that count as his tally and end his barren spell, or is it senior appearances only...

It was a poor penalty IMHO. I want him to come good though! I really thought he would aid our goal scoring abilities.

The first time he touched the ball today was after 20 minutes. That's abysmal whatever side of the fence you sit on. I'm posting this again because it seems to have gone under the radar. He didn't touch the ball for over 20 minutes in the first half! 20 minutes! How can any professional footballer manage to stay out of the action for that length of time? Hardly his fault is it if players aren't getting the ball to him.

And I think you'll find (although it was the evidence of my half closed eyes as opposed to any match stats) that Joselu, who's being lauded as John Ritchie re-incarnate by some, touched the ball once in the first half yesterday, and that was off his shin.

I thought Bera played ok, nowt to write home about but ok.
That said we can't afford to waste gilt edged chances and at the time 2-0 could well have killed the game off for us so If Shaq is the penalty taker then he should have taken it. If the situation ever arises where we are in a commanding lead say 3-0 up with 5 mins to play and a penalty is available to help a player gain back his confidence the fine. But not this time, risking points at this stage of the season is stupid and smacks of individual aspirations rather than team ethics.
I'm sure Jack would love to step up and take a pen to, but it's not his place to do so. If it is unclear as to who is the penalty taker then that is poor management so fix it.
