I like the XI except I'd give Imbula a shot over Allen. Hughes has to give him another shot at some point and Joe has been pretty underwhelming so far.You must have watched two different games to me then. The only goal we've allowed was on him not being able to mark an old man who couldn't outrun Pottermus and he's stalled several counterattacks with awful passes to our wings. He's been crap.

It was our captain's man and I can't say I have seen many misplaced passes, certainly not enough to make that my impression of him.

Scrappy horrible games against TP, unsurprisingly.. loss 1v0 Palace away Loss 1v0 West Brom, home the 9 man fiasco loss 1v0 West Brom, away bullied the false 9 draw 1v1 West Brom, home last minute corner loss 1v0 West Brom, away early goal shut up shop
Time to break that pattern and smash them.

how about the club ask him exactly how his name is pronounced and put it on the website, just a thought

how about the club ask him exactly how his name is pronounced and put it on the website, just a thought I'm surprised that this isn't done more often. I saw a video in which Cesar Azpilicueta broke down his name syllable by syllable, and it was very helpful.

This, I suspect, is one of the fixtures that Pulis looks foreword to every season.
He will be scheming and plotting to get one over us yet again.
We must be equally diligent and do our homework.
He will have noted many features of our squad and in particular the possible vunrabilty of Diouf's occasional clumsiness when honestly defending.
Hopefully Fletcher may provide some insight as to how they prepare, and the SKULDUGGERY tthat they seem to have resorted to in recent years.
A win on Sunday whilst not essential could be a very good step on the ladder towards a successful and enjoyable season

A win on Sunday whilst not essential could be a very good step on the ladder towards a successful and enjoyable season That point about Fletcher is a good one. Previously the inside information was completely one sided. Pulis had much more inside knowledge about Stoke players than the other way around. Now with Whelan and Walters gone, and with Fletcher and Berahino in, it's more balanced.

We need to win this one, doesn't matter how - just beat them. I haven't wanted us to beat anyone this badly for a long time, Arsenal included. If we put the brakes on their winning start and pick up three points, it will be a massive moral booster and put us in a very good position going into the game against the Shit.
Goooarn Saido!

I think we'll get at least a point against them this time. We can at least compete in midfield.

Yes I know that is normally the case as will the Guardian journalist so I am presuming he did some homework first before he wrote what he wrote otherwise he would look pretty silly. Hear it for yourself. It's hay-SAY, just as it's spelled in Spanish. This is why the Internet sucks.

The west brom hoodoo was one of the greatest things of my stoke supporting life. I remember (just about) me and my dad standing on the Smethwick road end watching us getting tonked 6-0. My memory is a bit fucked but wasn't crooks playing for them that day? The run that followed was the stuff of legend. The 4-3 at the vic, the 2-1 and 3-1 at the hawthorns to name but a few. We now need to get shot of the pulis hoodoo. Gonna be a battle this one.

My old man decided we were leaving at 4-0, and by the time we reached the car just a short walk away from the ground, we had heard two more goal celebrations and it was 6-0. Horrible night, but we more than made up for it over the next few years. The 4-3 win at The Vic is one of my favorite Stoke games ever, as was the 2-1 away win when we took about 8,000 down to Smethwick - same season, or maybe the following year. What a day out that was!

Please don't get me started on Rooney again! If there was ONE scrote that I didn't want to score against us....it was HIM!!! Then, f*ck me if he didn't do it against Citeh I can't believe that he's scored ALL of their goals this season to date Is 'man-marking' a thing of the past?

Before the internet (well, really before smart phones), and usually in a place where one goes to quench their thirst, sometimes it was more fun to argue about things which didn't matter just for the sake of arguing--now people just look up the answer which sort of defeats the purpose.

Before the internet (well, really before smart phones), and usually in a place where one goes to quench their thirst, sometimes it was more fun to argue about things which didn't matter just for the sake of arguing--now people just look up the answer which sort of defeats the purpose. If anything, the internet has made it infinitely easier to argue about things that don't matter as well as spread misinformation. Just look at this board and this conversation we're having! You're also 'forced' to tolerate people you wouldn't tolerate in real life. Imagine if you met someone like bayernoatcake or benjaminbiscuit in a pub. You'd probably stop talking with them. But on this board you're forced to be exposed to their posts. By the way, whoever sits next to them in the stadium really has my sympathy. On the subject of mispronouncing names, it grates on me when media professionals do it as they cause everyone else to say it wrong. Plus it's lazy on their part. I'm not referring to the perfect accent as non-native speakers of a language often find it impossible to make some foreign sounds. I'm referring to the closest pronunciation using sounds that exist in English. For example, I cringe when the media say Eden Hazard's last name like the English word rather than the correct pronunciation ah-ZAHR. Here is a video with some footballers saying their names.

Here is a video with some footballers saying their names. ^ That video proves absolutely nothing. Why would I believe that Eden Hazard knows how to pronounce his own name? He's obviously wrong just like Brett Favre--another athlete who can't pronounce his name correctly. Clearly, it's HAZ-erD, just like it's FAH-Ver, not FARve. Get a clue.

Pulis can't wait for this fixture and will have some tricks up his sleeve for us. I can't see us scoring unfortunately. Can maybe scrape a 0-0 at best then move on That's the spirit 👍 Just sad realism. Im positive about our season but PULIS loves bringing us down to earth. Its gonna be quite feisty, I can imagine TP running up and down the touchline waving his arms about and bitching at our players. High chance of a red card, we need to keep our heads

However we are quite capable of overcoming them and getting a point or three. As you said we must not let him or his players wind us up . Ala Affellay and Cameron being sent off in this fixture, both as a result of what some people would call gamesmanship. I call it cheating.

The Crooks game was in 86/87 when they beat us 4-1 (the game that ended our long unbeaten run under Mills). In between that they beat us 2-0 in 87/88 (when i think Andy Gray may have scored for them) and they also dicked us 3-0 in 1983/84 in the First Division. From the mid-80s on The Hawthorns was a graveyard for us until we drew 2-2 there in Macari's first season.

It was quite bizarre and comical.
