The west brom hoodoo was one of the greatest things of my stoke supporting life. I remember (just about) me and my dad standing on the Smethwick road end watching us getting tonked 6-0. My memory is a bit fucked but wasn't crooks playing for them that day? The run that followed was the stuff of legend. The 4-3 at the vic, the 2-1 and 3-1 at the hawthorns to name but a few. We now need to get shot of the pulis hoodoo. Gonna be a battle this one. The 6-0 was in 1988/89. The Crooks game was in 86/87 when they beat us 4-1 (the game that ended our long unbeaten run under Mills). In between that they beat us 2-0 in 87/88 (when i think Andy Gray may have scored for them) and they also dicked us 3-0 in 1983/84 in the First Division. From the mid-80s on The Hawthorns was a graveyard for us until we drew 2-2 there in Macari's first season. went to all those Season after the 6.0 we drew 1.1 under Ball Should have been 0.6 again, just as bad but Fox had the game of his life & Ellis scored a spawney goal at the death.

Will Pulis shake Mark"s hand ?..................unlikely Will Sparky shake Toxic's? No love lost between the two. One has the others dream job, the other has a misplaced beef about one of his teams being kicked off the park by the others.

Where do we think things lie after tonight's performance?
With Jack, Ryan, Geoff, MBD, Fletch, Choupo-Moting, Jese and Saido all not featuring, you'd think Sparky has them all in line to start at the weekend. Pieters will surely go back to LWB, Allen will play after his performance tonight ... so what does that mean for one of BMI/Zouma?
Butland BMI/Zouma Shawcross Cameron MBD Fletcher Allen Pieters Choupo Saido Jese

We'd lost to Telford a few days before and needed a positive response. We got it too. Probably should have win it really. Well done Lou and the players!!

Is Shaq out then? The report of the official site seemed to say that while he would miss Rochdale they were hopeful for WBA.
I didn't believe it mind.

We need a win now to show we are in a good place, tight loss against Everton, cracking win over arsenal and Rochdale, this game will be a better predictor of our season. If we can out wit the capped one and his gamesmanship I think we will have a good season. I think last season there were a few too many personalities in the dressing room, seems a more together feeling

We are going to run rings around them after they sit back for 75 mins. Especially with Ramadan or the younger subs hopefully featuring. You know he'll have all 11 behind the toxic bus.

Hughes would be entirely justified in picking the same team that played most of the game against the Arse (ie post-Shaq's injury). I would personally switch Geoff to RWB instead of Mame and bring Bruno into the back 3, so we can get that settled and performing as a unit sooner rather than later.
There is no point trying to out-Pulis Pulis, so let's go for pace and skill on the counter.

I think if we play the way we did against Arsenal then they will have a very difficult time dealing with us. I agree with the above and get Bruno in asap.

Hopefully score the first goal in any way possible then draw them onto us as they try to equalize and then pick them off on the counter.I am going for a 2-0 win to Stoke. Goals from Zouma and obviously Berahino late on!

Been that many times to the Hawthorns with a mixed bag of results The best had to be the 2-1 under Macari with thousands of Stokies in attendance. Remember going in the FA Cup when Gabbiadini scored in our defeat in a night match The last minute goal Shotton kicked out of Foster's hands wasn't bad either A 2-0 win in a midweek game when Razor scored I think as well and I've just remembered the 3 goals in 6 minutes when Parkin scored one and being absolutely bollocksed from celebrating that hard😄

Most important things are to keep the ball so they can't run at us, and more important than that is not to give away silly free kicks. Do those things and we won't lose.

If we do them over I will be happier than I was last week. I would absolutely love us to do one over TP. Paul Merson is predicting a 1-0 win for West Brom, also commenting that if WBA win, TP will be nearly a quarter of the way to safety this season.😂
