Up until our equaliser that was the worst excuse for a football match I've witnessed since the last time I watched a Pulis game but at least on that occasion I had managed to get on the anaesthetics beforehand to dull the senses. Not so today and to suffer a Pulis game in all its glory is hard going. Pitch prepared to make it difficult to play on the ground and attritional from the start with petty gamesmanship, little attacking intent, and the deliberate plan to keep goals and entertainment to an absolute minimum. Perhaps I'm being a bit unfair about the pitch though, maybe Albion fans have asked for the grass to be left long so they can watch it grow every week for a bit of excitement? BM It was only ever sufferable after anaesthetics, one of the many reasons I hated the twat so much, a lot of the time it was over 200 miles each way with me and my two lads, 1 pint absolute max  Not now they can both drink tho', it's brilliant! |

He seemed shit scared at the prospect of going into the international break with an 100 % record.He proved last season he could get those players playing some half decent stuff but today he totally reverted to type.

If I was a Baggies fan I'd be well pissed off with Pulis tonight. He seemed shit scared at the prospect of going into the international break with an 100 % record.He proved last season he could get those players playing some half decent stuff but today he totally reverted to type. Let's get those expectations managed! Was quite funny how going 1-0 up (© Tony Pulis) made him bring a defensive midfielder on with no intention of trying to score a second and then we scored 😂 He's just so predictable. The bloke really does try to strangle the life out of games of football doesn't he. |

Convinced that Fletcher has made a difference to our defensive set plays.
Hughes mentioned how attentative he is in training, and I just couldn't see him not going through a few Pulis set plays with us once he arrived.
Noticeable change in any case (hence MOTD analysis) - and coincidentally it was Fletch managing our shield of the front post!

The main reason why West Brom played as they did was because Pulis had only one thing in mind before the game began: not lose to Stoke. That fact, in his mind, is his last vestige of respect where he is concerned. He proudly boasted of the fact after the game. As for not watering the pitch and his 'cage'; those are legitimate tactics he's always used. He did the same when he was at Stoke by making the pitch smaller. I despise the man with a passion, but the one thing you can't level at him is that he's a loser. Not losing a game of nogger (at any price) comes before anything. We did well. I know it was fortuitous, but we broke his 'wall' and got a point. Now I'm looking forward to the home game when, with some luck and a fair wind, we can finally shatter his feeling of invincibility. If we do beat his team it will hurt far more than any court cases he's lost.
