Lets be honest, every fucker on here was cacking their pants when they thought Johnson was going to a certain "big two" Spanish club as cover. How fucking fickle that a few months down the line, we sell our other right back you're moaning! Cant fucking win with fans at this club! Since then it's clear his legs have gone

Shame. Good solid defender. Hope we have a replacement lined up because johnson has been awful since his injury. Living on past reputation

Any chance we can go for Iorfa from Wolves now? Think he's gone on loan to Ipswich - Wolves fans didn't seem to rate him, just seemed to have a worldie against us

Always gave 100% left on good terms and was a dependable pro. What more can you ask? Liked his time here especially when he would go in with a 1970's Scottish style two footed tackle. Each time he dived in you cringed a bit thinking he was off with a leg break tackle. Good luck Phil. Personally I'd rather he stay and Johnson leave but contracts and money and all that behind the scenes stuff. Burnley are going to have a proper good cover RB this season.

Will have to delete ' The only way is Cheshire' off series record now it's lost the Stoke city connection!!! I preferred bards to Johnson. Good servant to the club, all the best bards.

What the hell is going on? Even a blind person who has never watched football before would get that Bards is a much more dependable back up RB than the totally shot Johnson. Total madness To be honest Bardsley was always a red card waiting to happen,no great loss

From what I recall Bardlsey automatically had an option of another year on his contract which he triggered. Clearly the club knew they needed to one of the two off the books and as Dave says no one wanted Johnson. Even if Bardsley did have an option to extend (and I don't know the truth of it) Johnson didn't. We gave Johnson a new contract when we didn't have to. Before his injuries that may have made sense. After his injuries, there were few fans who could not see that Johnson was a pale shadow of the player we had in his first season at the club. I'd also bet that Johnson was on higher wages than Bardsley - another reason to extend Bardsley's contract (and keep him) but not to extend Johnson's.

I would imagine we have a replacement lined up.
Everyone including my blind cat can see Johnson is way past it and cannot be relied on remotely to stay fit.

No real problem with any of the leavers to date, other than three of them were on our home grown list, which potentially puts pressure and limitations on ensuring we are bringing in home growns as replacements/upgrades. Anyone have the current situation on how many home growns left in the squad (over 21's only)?

Bit of a bizarre one but best of luck Bardo.
Wonder if this means we are going with Edwards and Cameron as the backups or those links to the dutch guy (Der Wiel?) were correct?

Has anyone commented on the quite superb decision to extend his contract a few short weeks ago. The stupid Burnley fuckers could have had him for nothing a month ago. Another fantastic piece of business by stoke City I agree this is a commercial master stroke, money for nothing. Clear after Chelsea last season hughes write him off. I assume when we sign another centre back, Cameron will be right back until Edwards comes through

Choice of two - sell the wrong one fucking idiots ! Who's offered to buy Johnson then? We asked Newcastle Town if they wanted him, plus we would give them £50.000,they told us to fuck off.

Good business getting rid of our more senior players. We'll sign a decent first choice RB don't worry.

Still, we do have Charlie.

Personally I think Johnson is less of a liability. Less of a walking red card and better attacking. Was never a penalty last week. However needs to stay fit.

I've read a ton of posts over the last few days on here regarding how wank both of our right backs are, and now we've pulled in a decent fee for one of them, people are complaining that he's gone? You couldn't fucking make it up No problem with Bards leaving, as long as we have a plan to replace him. He's done a solid job for us when needed. Always a one-hundred-percenter, and all the best to him.

750k. Absolutely fuck all in todays market. Wow. Erm that's £750,000 more than we would have got until his new contract (that a lot moaned at) and not bad for a player that makes Darren anderton look healthy in his career I know what you are saying mate but I was expecting the same kind of money we got for Whelan. It's a snip whichever way you look at it. Be a lot of team spirit at burnley next season I would imagine!
