Wo wo wo, it wasn't Trump who said on national TV...if you don't know who you're voting for then you ain't black 🤣 But agree with you 100%. Neither of the clowns should be anywhere near the biggest job in world politics. Its a tragedy.

Sounds like he avoided answering questions and had a pop at the judge today.
I think what he says actually reveals things - Trump's saying the judge is biased but that's because he would want biased judges.
If he regains power he will use it to purge the government of people who aren't loyal so that The Party will be above the law, provided they obey him.
He will be impossible to remove from power, no matter what crimes he commits.

Maybe they have to pay for parking spaces for their jets and theirs just happen to be next to eachother. It is at the same airfield Isn't it? I don't know how it works but it wouldn't be surprising if they had reserved bays for them.

I was reading about this case at the weekend. The Times covered it in some depth.
According to the legal experts they spoke to, Trump's on a hiding to nothing on this one and his legal team is fighting a losing battle. They know this which is why they've been trying to goad the judge into doing or saying something that'd provide grounds for a retrial.
This could be the first of many financially and personally costly verdicts against him. There are a growing number of commentators thinking he could well be president from jail or house arrest.
Absolutely nuts!

Absolutely nuts! Presumably if he gets elected as president whilst in jail he just pardons himself does he not? The scariest prospect of him getting re-elected is that come the end of 4 years he simply won't leave - he'll spend his term rigging the judiciary and military that he can't be kicked out. It's well known he's in awe of Putin's grip on Russia. He'll set out to do the same in the US.

Lose that one he would have to change the US Constitution to get out of jail - which won't be that easy.

I see Trump's oldest sibling, Maryanne Trump Barry, has died. The Telegraph obit makes for interesting reading!
She was a federal judge and said of her brother in response to his border wall plans:
"I mean, my god, if you were a religious person, you want to help people. Not do this....He has no principles. None. His goddamned tweets and his lying, oh my god! I'm talking too freely, but you know. The change of stories. The lack of preparation. The lying. Holy shit. It's the phoniness of it all. It's the phoniness and the cruelty. Donald is cruel".
When asked if Trump was indeed a self made man she responded: "Well, he has five bankruptcies. Anything he does, he says 'Look what I've done, aren't I wonderful? And he's as tight as a duck's ass".
Doubts had been expressed about whether Trump had paid someone else to take his SATs for him to win a place at Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania. Maryanne confirmed the allegation: "He was a brat. I did his homework for him...I drove him around New York City to try to get him into college...Then he got into the University of Pennsylvania because he had somebody take his exams".
Genuinely can't understand what makes people think he's a suitable candidate for any public role, let alone president. Just weird.

It’s impossible to argue that he isn’t. He’s not self-made. His father made the business. Trump ran it to the ground in Atlantic City and his father bailed him out by buying millions of dollars of chips that he never cashed or gambled. Trump inflated his value and in the 80s, was seen as a superstar. His Apprentice show renovations was paid for by others. The only successful business he has owned has been the selling of his name. He relied on this, in full, to make himself relevant again. It started with appearing in every commercial possible and for the last 10-15 years, it has just been foreign investments. Most of the “Trump Towers” etc are not owned or ran by Trump. He simply put his name on it to provide legitimacy for investors abroad.

If the Republicans get their way they'll just get a pardon even if they had to send soldiers in to hold a gun to the heads of the boardmembers. I think they'd try to force it through the governorship and state senate first to get a veneer of legitimacy though. It's reaally up to american voters. Most polls say they will vote for Trump now so it seems a lot of americans want to Putinise their own country.

Lose that one he would have to change the US Constitution to get out of jail - which won't be that easy. Georgia has a boars that can do pardons. Most polls say they will vote for Trump now so it seems a lot of americans want to Putinise their own country. Thanks for the clarification. If he does get found guilty in Georgia (and it's looking odds on) and gets voted in as President I'm sure his supporters will do everything they can to get him out of jail but it isn't going to be straightforward or pretty. He's going to have to take direct ownership of the legal system and basically tear up the US Constitution. The US have a massive problem if they vote in Trump - as you say it pretty much ends democracy there. You are right he is a Putin wannabe but also a coward - Putin is ex KGB and is perfectly capable of killing someone, Trump is a playground bully who would wet himself in a fight.

Republicans struck a *huge* blow against democracy today when their judges gutted the civil rights act. Story. They ruled that if a state passed racist voting laws, then only the US attorney general can sue against them under one of the important sections. If Trump wins next time then it'll be open season for states to pass laws that prevent "undesirable" races from voting because he won't sue. Those states will then be permanently Republican even if most of the people there wanted to vote out The Party. The Republicans have played a smart game by blocking Obama from nominating judges and then stacking federal courts full of their loyalists. This has been rammed through entirely by Republican judges. I think we can look to Putin's russia for an idea of where the republicans are going.

They have been more center overall than I expected to be honest. I think that they are less partisan than State supreme courts. R.e., court replacements, Democrats carry a lot of that burden themselves. They decided to wait for RBG to die to be subbed out. It sucks that it happened during Trump’s tenure. This is a problem that Democrats have in their party. Feinberg refused to give up power on her deathbed, selfishly holding up progress. People like Sanders, Biden and Pelosi stifle any chance of a new generation of politicians as well.

An obvious attempt at Gerrymandering in a minor Arkansas County But if you look at the flash point Polaski County it breaks it about 60% White 40% Black which would suggest an over representation of the Black Community in Public Office While overall Arkansas is 75% White 15% Black and 10% other It's depressing that in 2023 people are still voting on Ethnic Lines but educate me where is the real problem

The biggest issue seems to be that people like Biden are living in the past where you didn't have one party trying to seize complete power and turn it into a de-facto one party country.
