Lovely to see the States going back a few hundreds of years. 'Just hours after Donald Trump’s election win on Tuesday, Black people across the US reported receiving racist text messages telling them that they had been “selected” to pick cotton and needed to report to “the nearest plantation”. While the texts, some of which were signed “a Trump supporter”, varied in detail, they all conveyed the same essential message about being selected to pick cotton. Some of the messages refer to the recipients by name.' The run-up to Tuesday's election included the biggest rise in U.S. political violence since the 1970s, including some racist attacks on Harris supporters, according to cases identified by Reuters. He's normalised racism with his division. I know some of you will laugh and find it funny but we're not talking about being woke here. This is pure hate he pushed for years with lies and misinformation and his racist part of the MAGA crowd feel free now to be racist. I'm not labeling all that voted for him racist - I work with many US folk and Republicans and they voted for other reasons. Potentially it's going to get nasty. US law enforcement probing racist texts targeting Black Americans

Reading through the last few pages or I don't think many people grasp the consequences of what has just happened in the US election - just mindless gloating. Bernie Sanders - How does the Republican party do so well? Worth the 5 minutes. Twenty years on and (sadly) every word spoken by Sanders there, is just as relevant now as it was then. Probably even more so, it's heartbreaking.

It’s not like they’re squeaky clean either!

And you think this imperialist is going to be handing Ukraine to Russia? I think the fabricated unrequited special relationship with Putin may be shown up. Donald Trump will not be the man to exit Ukraine after spending billions unless the American economy is going to benefit financially off the back of it. To be fair, I've addressed this on the other thread mate, it's a pity there's two running side by side. But it's important to also remember Zelenksys victory plan was agreed with the Democrats and had the same consequences. "Joint protection by the US and the EU of Ukraine's critical natural resources and joint use of their economic potential" Source - www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cd0z8gg5v14oAnd from Republican senator, and trunp ally, Lindsay Grahams mouth: I don't know what trillions of dollars which could be great for our economy means aside from exactly that. Some would call it propoganda to question these imperialist motives even when it comes direct from the horses mouth and no other plausible explanation is given. The only benefit I can see from the reputational suicide of continuing with the Gaza genocide is that it seems to have provided a cloak over what's happening in Ukraine and critical thinkers like yourself and many others on this forum don't seem to scrutinise it in the slightest. I don't mean that in a disrespectful way. I just wish more people would try and do a bit of research on the history of Ukraine. Just as in the same manner we find it important to read about the history of Palestine before October 7th to get a better understanding of things. That doesn't make you "pro Russia" either just like it's possible to also be critical of hamas and the idf. It's not as black as white as seems in my opinion.

A very expensive stunt to provide aid for such a short time. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaza_floating_pier

Left wing bitterness and lunacy has attempted to take over these last few years but it is failing miserably. This last week has given me great hope for my children's futures.

If only Jeffrey Epstein were alive to see his great buddy back in the White House again. I imagine he would throw him one of his infamous parties that Trump loved to frequent.

Yes but that's a completely separate argument (and heaven forbid, I've slagged the Democrats foreign policy off on here many times) but Ariel and myself were arguing about whether there were any facts to demonstrate (specifically) that Trump was a seeker of peace. I agree with most of what you've said there but surely the general thrust of the point you're making, doesn't really have much to do with Donald Trump.

No but I think it's pretty distasteful to publicly stick the knife in a guy she has spent the last however many years cheering on to be potus. Actually... Quite reminiscent of a certain British politician... First name Keir?

Of course you brought up Starmer, but haven’t mentioned the multiple Tory inquests over their multiple changes to leaders!
