😂😂😂Team Kamala are now rolling out the likes of Cardi B to campaign for them. Famous for rapping about her vagina, drugging and robbing people and being a stripper. Seriously, how are people buying into Kamala Harris 😂 Not the best choice, may as well have introduced p diddy Unfortunately Trump supporting Kanye West was obviously not available

In the same way people bought into 2 tier Kier. It’s sad that there’s very rarely a good option anymore whether it’s here or over the pond. Harris will be an awful president. If she's elected I don't know why people are so sure she'd be terrible. The US' problems extend far beyond the presidency, with a dysfunctional Congress, failing democracy in a bunch of states and political supreme court now. Someone could be the best president in decades and the political divide is so entrenched there will be constant propaganda from the other side saying they're terrible. IMO Kamala's likely to act to reduce corruption, mitigate the deficit, build US manufacturing, defend Ukraine to deter Russia and China, clean up pollution, reduce medical costs and improve access, act to keep the internet free, support consumer rights, prevent the government from taking away more rights and won't use state violence on the whim of a single angry old man etc. All those sound fine to me. Your first paragraph is spot on, but if that's true, why is there such a big hatred for Trump, if even presidents can't bypass how the system works ? It makes all the things said about Trump and Biden/Kamala, just a farce. It's a popularity contest that means fuck all in the end. Certainly in the USA, anyway.

Trump is a racist, rapist, pathological liar. He loved his country so much he used his wealth to avoid the draft, and his lawyers to avoid tax. He has total contempt for anyone who doesn’t directly put money into his own personal coffers, including his supporters who pay for his legal fees whilst declaring he is so rich he doesn’t need to be paid to be president. He understands the dangers of climate change , but doesn’t give a fuck about it because he’ll be dead in 20 years max. He will end the war in Ukraine because Putin will make it worth his while: ditto Israel and his wealthy pro Zionist friends.
He is a total cunt. The world would be a better place if he wasn’t in it.

I'm not speaking for Mtrstudent who can decide to reply himself or not People have questioned the fragility of Democracy or whether it even exists and not just in US. If Harris wins the Election Trump's Felony and Civil cases in several States proceed which if convicted some carry mandatory gaol sentences. It is irrelevant if Harris would use Presidential Executive Powers to pardon Trumps felony convictions or not in such circumstances as it would be done on an arms length basis in the Public Interest. If Trump wins the Election he will order the Justice Department to shut down any pending Felony litigation against him and in the unlikely event any proceed would be quashed by a majority in the Supreme Court which he has appointed. Whether the Civil cases could be quashed it's hard to say but would be frustrated to an extent that they would never reach a conclusion. Some in the US recognise that electing Trump with Executive Powers of the President is tantamount to electing a Dictator. Some are comfortable with that, others not and yet more blissfully unaware. If I can stray a little, the undermining of Parliamentary Democracy,by the Johnson Government in particular, pushes at the edge of the checks and balances built into UK Democracy within its 3 Pillars Sometime in the not distant future Historians will review the breakdown of Democracy or if it collapses, the final chapter will be whether it has recovered or not.

Not a massive fan at all as he has huge faults yet some things he says I totally agree with and some things he comes out with I totally disagree with. All that said it will comfort me so much when he wins and the lefties of the world are pissing their knickers and crying about it and let's be honest they will. If the lefties on this board are anything to go by then all they will do is abuse, call names and scream until someone hits back and they will then cry victim. I await with popcorn 🍿 But if Trump loses it will just be accepted peacefully.,,

The Selzer poll dropped tonight and has Harris +3 in Iowa. For those not in the know, Ann Selzer is regarded as the best pollster in the business and has an unmatched record of capturing the mood right before elections. If her results are correct that would represent an 11 point swing to the Democrats in a state that Trump carried twice by huge margins. Again, if correct it suggests the election will not be close in the end. I think the polls may have overcorrected too far after the embarrassments of missing Trumps support so badly in 16 and 20, and they're also underestimating just how sick Americans, and especially women are of this clownshow.
Also those morons here saying a normal, sane and highly qualified candidate is a worse option than a literal criminal out on bail with three outstanding separate trials who has been found liable for rape and fraud... A wannabe dictator that praises hate groups and dictators while demonising women, veterans, the disabled, gays, trans, mexicans, muslims, black people etc etc. A man that bullies and belittles and demeans and fans the flames of hatred, division, racism and misogyny and lies more frequently than anyone in political history. A man that wants to use the military to go after citizens who don't support him and tried to steal an election he knew he lost and set a riot on the Capitol resulting in the deaths of American citizens. A man who the majority of his own cabinet and former employees refuse to endorse or support, calling him a fascist and an overt admirer of Hitlers. A man who spent the days closing his campaign with a nazi esque hate rally, swaying for 39 minutes to Ave Maria and YMCA, fantasising over a golfers dick size, dressing up as a binman, simulating a blowjob on a mic stand, telling women he'll protect them whether they like it or not. A man that only cares about himself, has no empathy and is a straight up psychopathic narcissist. A man who's brain is melting before our own eyes and can no longer speak in coherent sentences, wears shoe lifts and more makeup than a drag queen.....(this is just off the top of my head, I could go on all night but you get the point) . The notion a majority gives you the right to abuse the minority isn't democracy. It's oppression. The rule of law is in place to support and protect all citizens.... that's an overriding tenet of democratic governance.

I thought this was a good, interesting post until I reached 'highly qualified candidate' (sorry! 😂) For me the statistics of polling this year are really fascinating. It's clearly got more difficult to do polling now people don't answer landlines as much etc. And Nate Silver showed how many of the battleground polls are too close - except for a few (Selzer, Siena/NYT). There's supposed to be more randomness, like 2 or 3% errors, but many are all within 1% of each other. It's a bit like asking loads of people to throw a die and everyone insists they got a 3 or a 4, nothing higher or lower. I bet they're nudging the turnout or demographic numbers to sit on the fence. And we have no idea if the reality is gonna be better for Trump or for Harris. If the Selzer poll is right then it'd be such a blowout that the Republican plan to overthrow the election if Turmp loses would certainly have a harder time.

Percent chances of winning (this is not the vote percents, just how likely they think a win is): Betting markets have Trump 54-46 Harris, last few days swung better for Harris after Trump was 64% favourite. 538 has Trump 53-47 Harris. I don't pay for Nate Silver so don't get exact numbers but Trump is favourite there too. Trump took the lead in mid-October. This is the closest election I remember seeing, and I started paying attention in 2008.

Mrstudent, I know we love each other but man do I disagree with your pro Democrat stance. They are cunts 😊 Another thing I care about is whether the president will act to protect Americans, or if he'll just use the office for personal power like a dictator. When hurricanes hit North Carolina or Florida, Joe Biden immediately spoke out about how it was bad and that Americans need to stick together, and he authorised aid to help them. Trump used natural disasters to insuilt and attack states he didn't like. He blocked aid to Washington state after devastating wildfires, and temporarily blocked it to California until his advisers persuaded him there were lots of Trump voters there too. When innocent people are suffering, I believe it's important for the leader to bring the country together and help out. Harris will be like Biden and she will do that, she will help Americans. Trump wants act like a king, he used the power of the presidency to stick the knife into the backs of Americans who were suffering, just because they didn't vote for him. You can decide whether your values align with helping people who are suffering, or having a supreme leader who will use the power of the state to hurt innocent people as personal retribution.

This is one of the reasons I liked Ron Desantis. I guess even if you hated a lot of his politics you would be glad of him being your governor during a crisis I know senators and governors have different roles, but if I lived in Florida I would have been happy with DeSantis actually meeting with Biden to try and work together (or at least project that), but if I were Texan I'd be really pissed with Ted Cruz fleeing the cold to go hang in Mexico as Texans died after a winter storm. I've emphasised that I think it's important what leaders actually do, but it's a bit more complicated because clearly words matter sometimes too. I really, really discount words when they're just obvious lies to try and win votes e.g. like when Trump said he'd release his tax returns but didn't even try, or said he'd allow Medicare to negotiate drug prices but didn't even try, or said he'd fund infrastructure but didn't even try etc. I try to ignore just flat out lies or taking credit for things you didn't do. But words can matter in driving opinions, policies etc. The Bush administation's campaign of lies built support to invade Iraq for example. Or the Trump/MAGA Republicans' campaign of lies to try and destroy US democracy right now. With disasters, I want leaders who both do the work (e.g. sending aid) and also act like leaders and work together to help people. DeSantis did far better than Cruz or Trump, although it'd be interesting to know if he'd act the same if he was in position to give the aid rather than take it.

So I agree completely with the idea but imagine I would disagree about specific examples. For example, Obama/Biden talk about unity a lot but in fact Obama 2012 was an incredibly divisive campaign which in some ways led to the whole Trump thing. Desantis is definitely a do the work type - wasn't particularly great at the talking thing. It's a shame he was against a personality cult

He’s going to win.
It’s still astonishing that he and Biden were the two choices at the start of this for arguably the most important job in the world.
His words are full of hate, always beating down on people below him. This hurtful rhetoric resonates for some reason with those people below him, those he wants to do the most damage too to make himself richer.

Fwiw here are my guesstimate odds, mainly I'm following the 538/betting prediction markets. 60% Trump wins the vote 35% Harris wins the vote narrowly - the following Republican coup attempt stands a good chance of installing Trump 5% Harris wins by enough that even legal shenanigans won't work and an attempted Republican coup will very likely fail. If Harris were to somehow get good enough numbers then I think a lot of tenuous Trump allies might not even go through with it. Even the Republican courts like the Supreme Court might not even try to throw him the election if he loses in some truly crazy way like by 5%+ in Pennsylvania and Iowa being close. They'd want to keep their powder dry for a better opportunity.

A man who's brain is melting before our own eyes and can no longer speak in coherent sentences, wears shoe lifts and more makeup than a drag queen.....(this is just off the top of my head, I could go on all night but you get the point) . Then you guys either don't subscribe to reality or have been so far indoctrinated into the upside down insane right wing bullshit ecosystem world that you don't know your arse from your elbow Great post. Hopefully there just enough sane Americans who understand the reality to carry the day. I'm reasonably confident Harris is going to win, i'm less confident the result will be accepted. Trump, and now also Musk, have an awful lot to lose, and neither of them has a history of losing gracefully.

I really can see Harris winning, the stage is set for such a historic moment - somehow feels different than when it was Hillary. Unbelievably close however, but I just can’t see a world where trump gets back in, no matter what the polls and betting odds are saying.

I don't believe the polls at all, I also think/hope that many "Trump supporters" actually vote for Harris when they get into the booth as in many places it's better to say you're voting for Trump than to go against what appears to be a prevailing view. The mid-term polls were wrong and Biden did better than forecast and it would not surprise me if people are betting on Trump because they think it somehow makes it more likely to happen.
Looking at Polymarket, there's clearly been betting on Trump as a preferred candidate, and a lot of MAGA cash has now started to disappear as the market is swinging towards Harris.
