It’s sad that people believe that nonsense. Politics is all about kissing whichever taint you need to get in power, going to Costco for Vaseline and continuing to kiss it until not even Vaseline will stop the chapping. There is no alternative. That is politics.

What the fuck is wrong with these men? That is one of the most disgusting things I've ever heard from an American politician. And coming from a fucker who's anti IVF! news.northwestern.edu/stories/2024/july/j-d-vances-worrisome-anti-ivf-stance/?fj=1How people can remotely consider voting for these utter twats is beyond me, if a British politician said something like that, they would be hounded out of our politics forever.

I wonder what the difference between real America and social/media/Hollywood America is?
Perhaps the latter is a gross amplification of reality?
I've never been so I'd love to hear from residents of the US. Is this representative or exaggeration?

I've never been so I'd love to hear from residents of the US. Is this representative or exaggeration? It’s just another country. It’s further to the right politically than the UK and personal independence and patriotism are far more mainstream at the level of the individual, but it’s just another country. It has its ups and its downs. As it is a MASSIVE country (Virginia is almost as big as England, Texas is bigger than France), each State has its own ups and downs. As a people, I find Americans to be proud, friendly and generous. As in any country, there are always assholes but they don’t belong to any one political side and are a minority compared to the general goodness of the population.

Thanks for your experiences I'd agree with that the few I've met I think every creed and nation has it's own fair share of people on the fringes at either end of the spectrum who ramp up their twattishness online or in front of a camera.

I picked up on the word you used alternative and Harris does that, Biden by the end didn't offer anything. This is going to be the most divisive Election ever. The Maga cult have gone all in. Harris needs to pick someone popular in the Swing States. I actually think the mysoginist rhetoric hurts the Trump Campaign if any Lady has any respect for themselves, clearly the Maga Ladies don't.

I don't know if it will last or indeed if this is an outlier poll but at least there is now some heat on Trump's jacksy. Exclusive: Harris leads Trump 44% to 42% in US presidential race, Reuters/Ipsos poll finds Snap poll

I’m not sure it’s about respect for yourself. Fox News is still one of the most watched channels in the States and people like Ingram simply are not going to push back against the RNC. The last time they did was January 6th and that wore thin as soon as NewsMaxx ratings started increasing. If you and your friends all get your news from one place, you are not listening to negative stories of Vance etc. They are not talking about Kushner being a slumlord, or how Qatar bought a failing property from him to get a sit down at the White House, or how strangely nepotistic the RNC is by appointing Trump’s daughter in law as head of RNC despite “wanting to drain the swamp”. The rejection of a bipartisan border bill is proposed as a good thing despite years of them talking of it being an “invasion”. A chief Republican denying promotions in the armed forces until he gets what he wants (directly affecting missions) is brushed aside despite the forces being such a matter of pride. CNN do plenty of the same crap. Both are MSM. If you want to get your news, you have to read the same article in two opposing sites because balanced reporting is gone now. Too many polls have revealed that this doesn’t happen anymore. The news divides people and they love doing it because tension and hatred increases ratings.

I would have thought the idea of a black woman becoming president was anathema to lots of Americans. The prospect of Trump losing again is somewhat disconcerting. One wonders what his response would be this time, and that of his supporters, given what happened last time he lost.

Perhaps she should have claimed Trump stole the presidency!!
