It was Twyford with the other goal. He's got 6 now I think, which isn't bad considering in the league we haven't done that well and he's a midfielder.

Twyford seems a decent prospect - let's hope his career does not go down the toilet.
Coat on.

Taylor to Rochdale on loan Great loan for the lad! Yes, on the few times I have seen him he looks ready to be blooded in the lower leagues. A left back/wing back who started life as a winger will, hopefully, be just what we need in a year or so. Let's hope he impresses and progresses at Rochdale who have always seemed to be a good little club.

Is the rash of loans of our youngsters a tacit admission that the under-23 league does not prepare them properly for the jump to first team football?

Is the rash of loans of our youngsters a tacit admission that the under-23 league does not prepare them properly for the jump to first team football? It's hardly proper mens football is it? If you miss a penalty in an under 23 match for example, no one gives a shit. Miss one in a league match and you'll have the crowd and team mates on your back. They need toughening up.

Is the rash of loans of our youngsters a tacit admission that the under-23 league does not prepare them properly for the jump to first team football? I'm pretty sure that everyone in football has accepted that for quite some time. This rash of loans is perhaps evidence of that fact that the quality of player in our youth system has improved so much that some of these players are now actually good enough to play league football, hence are going out on loan? Telford should have gone to Bolton in the Summer window and got injured in the week he was about to sign. That would have been another good move. We just need one for N'Goy now...preferably into the Championship.

Whatever the reason, it's good to see a few going out for the experience

Is the rash of loans of our youngsters a tacit admission that the under-23 league does not prepare them properly for the jump to first team football? That's already known. What it does show is we're producing a higher calibre of player. The U23s serves a purpose and it will be good for the U18s who are better to be playing that level now. It will aid their development massively. We're finally doing it right. EDIT-just seen Dave's post-----What he said!
