Drew 2-2, Twyford with our goals. We were 2 up apparently. Pretty crap at defending leads, aren't they? They were 2-0 against Everton a few weeks ago and lost 5-2. They seem that way! Will hopefully watch them soon as I haven't really watched them. The description of Dunwoody came via Leek. They do seem leaky though!

Stoke U18s were thrashed 5-1 by liverpool on saturday. Why is there no mention of it on this Board or on the official website, not even a result? But there is a full write-up on the Liverpool website, biased in favour of Liverpool of course. Having beaten West Ham in the FA Youth Cup, I would have expected more interest in the U18s.

The official site has always been turd when it comes to match reports for the academy. I usually get my updates from either here or twitter in relation to the academy. In other news hopefully N'Goy's brief debut on Saturday will have buoyed a few in the academy.

Official site blog on Hughes press conf today: "What you need from young players is a body of work in a consistent period and if I'm honest the young players haven't really made me think that they could be an option, but in recent weeks Julien Ngoy has done - either in training or with the Under-23s - so I felt that it was an opportunity at the weekend to give a young player who we have high hopes for an opportunity to go appear on that stage with our shirt on."
LMH telling it as it is regarding the academy?

If I were an under 23s defender I would be giving serious thought as to what my next career move is. If none of them could even make the bench in the last few weeks they can not be held in great regard. I doubt a defensive injury crisis like this will occur again in the future.

They won't be held in that high regard. Sweeney has played a few times and Souttar still hasn't played for the U23s which is odd. Taylor should have been within a shot especially with the wing back thing. The rest aren't good enough for what we need but will probably make careers out of football.

So the U-18s lost 2-0 to Everton today and the U23's lost 3-2 to Newcastle with Affelay playing (goals from Jarvis and Dunwoody I think).
No Verlinden so must definitely be injured. No Taylor or N'Goy so they must be with the 1st team.
