Impeccable timing what a great story Another nice moment from yesterday to go with Bojan's sublime finish and the referee forgetting to point to the penalty spot when Woolly booted big Pelle up the jacksy Yesterday was filled with great moments. What a lovely lady Mabel was. RIP

Some great counter-attacking moves we put together - another example of us being better set up for away games where we're not under pressure to take the game to the opposition.
Jack looks brilliant. Ryan's back and looks like he's never been away. Wollscheid has come good and Ryan's got the partner he needed. The full-backs look solid and are getting forward in support of their wingers. Shaqiri, Bojan and Arnie are getting better all the time, but the wingers need a bit of shooting practice. And Whelan's playing the best football of his career.
If Carling did our transfers we'd have Victor Wanyama and Loic Remy signed up as soon as the window opens.

Only places we may need to strengthen are perhaps a replacement for Van Ginkle and cover on the wing.

don't see what Wanyama would offer for our team really, think we need a much more box to box midfielder with a better range of passing.
Thought Wanyama was bang average on Saturday - Bojan ran rings round him at times.
Trouble is finding a decent priced box to box midfielder. Would've been nice if Dembele continued to be left out at Spurs but he's been given a run out in the side and is performing well.

We are becoming such a great club, there is a definite affinity between the players and the crowds, often you get players who are there just to steal a wage, but our current crop seem to have really gelled with the fans, and that is just brill to see. Well done Charlie, and happy birthday Poppy...

And some want him out of our team But that's down to ability I'm guessing or how he fits into the team not what he's like as a person.

I've always liked Sigurdsson of Swansea!!! Ki Sung Yueng or Jonjo Shelvey is the type we need. Not Sigurdsson. Although he is a very good player but I'd have Bojan over him any day.

Nice gesture. I wonder if it was totally random by Charlie? As it happens I have just seen the incident on Bearpit TV (link on here) and he did seem to have a purpose when he headed over there. Maybe he had picked her out at the front of the crowd during the match - or maybe there was more to it than that. I was standing 2/3 of the way up the stand above and from where I was sitting it looks like it was coincidence. Charlie was heading towards the corner, and went to avoid following cameramen, the lass was picked up and thrust to the front as any little one would when a parent sees a player taking his shirt off to give away. Either way, what an amazing thing to do and yes Malcolm, Mabel came into my thoughts with sadness as I was waiting for the starting whistle as it did last season. Good thing DO happen by design or not, bloody love our club.

Always remember seeing mabel and that scarf in my days at the Vic. An iconic member of the crowd scenes. Great gesture by Charlie. Top man.

Did they loan Ki to Sunderland last year? Or have I got that wrong? Seems to be their only good player who they don't play in the first 11 all the time. I can't help but feel his occasional goals make people rate him a little too highly though. In a similar vein to the journalistic wank fest that will happen when Wilshere scores a screamer to reach his tenth career goal, and everyone ignores the fact he can't tackle. Not that Ki wouldn't do well, I just don't see him as a big upgrade on Whelan we could get if we show a little patience like we did with the Shaqiri signing.

What was the other "clear penalty" they all seem to think they should've had? The consensus is they should have had 2, I can only remember one.... Arnie had a bit of a grapple with one of their players, didn't he? Tbh that was right in front of us and I thought it was nailed on ....in fact it was a carbon copy of the one he gave away v Leicester Never mind eh

He did get loaned out, definitely wasn't last season though because I remember him playing against us. Every time I've watched him play he's impressed me, very slick player who can carry the ball. Don't get me wrong I think there's much better players out there; was just commenting in relation to the Sigurdsson post.

2148 now sold for West Ham with a sell out of 2500 likely. At least the OP won't be embarrassed that day.

It's a pisser reading that. It's like a toned down version of The Oatcake. There's pant wetters, stoics, a lower league 'rivalry', even their own version of Benji it seems, just a lot less swearing and falling out.

I WAS WATCHING THE GAME ON A LIVE STREAM IGNORING THE POSSESSION STATS AND THE CLEAR PENALTY !!
THE CHANCES WE CREATED THEY COULD NOT HAVE COMPLAINED TOO MUCH IF WE HAD WON BY 3 OR 4 CLEAR GOALS
THE TEAM IS REALLY WELL SET UP AT THE MOMENT

The oatcake is plain middle class. It's like reading the Mail. I'm not condoning the "bomb", but the reaction is fascinating. You'll never live like common people... Says you living in Bath! I think you mean Barth
