DO YOU WATCH THE NEWS??????????? From time to time. Elaborate? What I'm saying is, if they are used responsibly at festivals they don't seem to cause a problem. By making them an issue at footie does it make the kids that want to set them off less responsible? i.e. I'm not going to hold it properly because I'll get caught? just asking! I'm guessing someone has been seriously hurt or killed by one from your response though. If so, were they being handled correctly or thrown into a crowd? Never heard of asthma?

You really have got to be short of a few brain cells to set a smoke bomb off inside a football ground considering the obvious threat we're living under nowadays. Fuck me. Although people are talking about finance and other priorities being the main reason for no longer attending away games on another thread, for me the amount of stupid cunts we take away with us is also a factor. It's why I stopped , my Mrs refused to go after getting soaked with beer and being genuinely frightened

At Glastonbury this year, when trying to get back to my mates durin Kanye, I got stuck in a crowded section of lairy wannabe black kids. Acting all street. They then lit a couple of flares and my first reaction was concern, triggered by what you read about them. Actually though, they were fine and I can't see a problem with them if they are handled correctly. The next day we were heading to where people had them. Am I missing something? The court system seems a bit harsh unless someone does something stupid with them? Or are they unpredictable? Outside at a Festival where the smoke can dissipate, or in the concourse of a football stadium where the smoke is contained? As the yanks say, you do the math.

Probably smuggled it up their arse. They are after all the kind of rent boys that would consider taking one to a football match.

Always have a couple of quid on a Stoke win, I go for the score generally. But at odds like that I just took the win price as we were a massive price for a team with our away record. Pinching money as you say.

I bet on Southampton to win for obvious reasons. A) I'm shit at betting, and B) We normally win or get a positive result whenever I bet against us. Worked an absolute treat yet again.

I prefer watch a stream and sit with my baby on my knee. I pay for two season tickets. That's enough for me. I've done my away days when I was young free and single. Dunna werrit, Clyde. Just wait 30 years and you'll be able to go to away games again. Until the grandkids come along, that is!

Not betted on the correct score since we won at man city last season mate We were 16/1 just to win and I went against my instinct and went Bojan 2-1.....and he never even started !! I'll only do those bets again if we are shit odds

The 5/1 on just the win covered it easily and then some, we won't be getting those odds very often from now on in I think.

I had a cracker
Stoke at 11/2 with Bet365 1-0 at 12/1 Bojan to score first at 11/1
Just wish I had done the double as it was something daft like 40 odd to 1!
Satisfying day, 90+ quid from few £3 bets
Only Swansea let my accy down as well for another 70 odd
Bloody Villareal shitting on todays Spanish fivefold before half the games have played - should have been a home banker

Out of interest OP how did your embarrassment manifest itself, did you go red, or start getting hives and rashes on your forehead, or start to stutter, or lose some self esteem, you can get therapy for such a terrible disorder, there are numerous self help groups that help people just like you with self confidence issues...You are not alone, and neither should you be...Stay strong youth...You'll be fine.

This is an interesting thread.I have started going to more away games since the free travel started.I can't understand why more fans don't take advantage of this, it's an excellent service. I drive all week with my job and it's great to have somebody else doing the driving and I can relax and chat with fellow stokies. Went to Newcastle and had a great day for £20, going to Sunderland and West Ham and would recommend it to anybody. Exactly what I mean I'm not having any dig at people who have other commitments I don't go to every game I just thought we would have had more there especially as we are playing so well So the next time you miss an away game should we be embarrassed and will you be having a good look at yourself? or Is it ok for you to miss games because you will have an excuse? Get back in your box you sanctimonious twat.

I'm guessing someone has been seriously hurt or killed by one from your response though. If so, were they being handled correctly or thrown into a crowd? Never heard of asthma? Yes, my wife has it. And to the other thread, I didn't know it was on the concourse, I thought it was out in the open. I wouldn't be happy with kids letting them off inside even if they were holding them properly. Im not saying I want to set anything off, just asking whether the police reaction at footie makes kids more dangerous with them?

Time and money maybe maybe not in that order. For me it always The first thought is money, that thought doesn't take long to digest cus it would be great to go away with family (immediately > £100) stay overnight to make the most of it ~£100 meal and refreshments ???. So like I say the money decision doesn't last long, I have experienced quite a lot and a guess it's less than 0.5 seconds. I wouldn't even go every home game if wasn't for the benefit of the per game of a season ticket. The money in football is simply mad.

The only time a flare could possibly be used responsibly is when its being used to direct a lifeboat/helicopter etc. If you think they have any place in a football stadium, you're as daft as the people using them
