The immediate answer is to stick Cameron into CM with Whelan. Gives us a presence in midfield, wins a lot of ball and has the engine to get up and down. Potentially sticking mummies in with Shawcross gives us far more options also with driving forward from the back with him and Cameron able to switch and cover.
Then stick Shaqiri in the hole behind Walters. Diouf on the Right and Armie on the left.
Butland s Piters Shawcross Muniesa Johnson
Cameron Whelan Shaqiri
Arnie Walters Diouf

When Bojan, Arnie and Shaq are in the side they tend to all want to be in the middle, thus getting in each others way and holding Bojan back
Why not try Arnie and Shaq on their "own" wings with a view to stretching the opposition and getting behind them? Otherwise I would say we can have Arnie or Shaq but not both

Cameron will create jack shite mate. You're better off with Charlie. What about trying Ireland besides Whelan. He's got a good footballing and sets the tempo really well. My only concern would be that he's not physical enough. I do think his clever passing would create more chances though.

I'm still @@@ ed we sold our most important player for peanuts with. O replacement. I really just don't understand what the hell the plan is with this squad. If you told me we'd sell Nzonzi and plan to replace him with Cameron or Adam I'd have told you you had lost your mind but currently that is where we are

Until the issue we have in this area is properly addressed we will struggle Sell your best player and dont replace him Nuts (IMHO) I think Hughes felt that MVG would be an adequate replacement for Nzonzi. But he isn't as aggressive or effective, even though he has flashes where you can see his potential.

The problem is whilst Adam has done 'OK' and been more disaplind, we've lost the attacking impetus he brings us as he's been shoe horned into a position IMO doesn't suit.

In my opinion find a place in the midfield for Cameron's engine and ability to carry the ball forward relatively quickly. We need an athlete in midfield and believe he should be given an extended run there

Geoff hasn't had the best of times since he came back from the last World Cup. He played a few games in that tournament for USA in midfield and looked far mor suited to that role. I believe he would do a much better job there for us than defence where he looks vulnerable at times. Give him a go there, as you say.

I haven't given up on Van Ginkel yet I don't think he's half the donkey he's made out to be by some on here. He'll come back into the fold at some point.

I would carry on with Adam because we have lost one out of the last 7 with him in the team so he's doing well.
My daddy says muniesa is the answer in midfield

Whelan is the outstanding player in midfield this season. Adam is doing well and the results have improved with him alongside Glenn.
He's not the answer longterm. I'm disappointed that Van Ginkel hasn't delivered the goods.

I know mate. I was convinced Van Ginkel would be a great player for us. Why? The transfer fee Chelsea paid for him, his early form for Vitesse, the fact Milan decided he was good enough to take on loan. A lot of hope and straw clutching too!

I get that and I liked the way people on the outside were talking about him but he did nowt at Milan, he did nowt at Chelsea and so far he's done nowt here. And I know people need time but this was a position and role where we couldn't really afford to wait. And so it's shown.

Not sure there was a plan. N'Zonzi knocked his bride about and had to leave dodge.
Hughes had been tracking Van Ginkel so took him low risk. Tried to panic buy Jedinek which didn't work. So we've got to look in-house until fanuary, and I reckon we've got interesting midfield options without buying.
Afellay, Adam, Sidwell, Cameron, Shenton etc.
I'd be sending Ireland out on loan though.

I'm a big fan of Af and we've got plenty of depth in the squad. Happy enough with Adam at the moment. But Sidwell in the mix is ok with me too. The odd flappy tackle when brought on late doesn't neutralize the fact that he can play football.

It was a shit transfer window. Trying to get Walters out of the door and a 31 year old half hearted replacement at 5 o clock on the last day is testament to that. It makes you fucking shudder to think about that. We'll do fuck all in January because we're too clever for business like that. Apparently. Correct, and it could end up a season wasted. A bottom half finish will hardly make it easy to attract the quality of player we need and the manager wants. Fecking hell I think I've just felt the earth tilt off it's axis!! Pugs agreeing with a Sheikh post?? The end is nigh.
