SIGNIFICANT ANNIVERSARY 5 years ago today in their wisdom they voted for Russia and Qatar to host the next World Cups. What a good idea. & I bet every day since they've realised that they went too far this time. The gravy train full of brown envelopes could have rumbled on for years if they'd just been sensible and given WC to someone other than Qater, whose envelopes were just slightly less bulging, but the greedy corrupt w*****s were like pigs at a trough, unable to show restraint and have got their just desserts. When the FBI turned up did they wish it had been different?

And yet there is still little chance of either World Cup being moved. Truly surreal.

I think the Fifa exco probably realised they'd gone too far when the reports of the bid assessment committee were realised and Qatar scored lowly on just about every criteria. Everything since then has just been the cracks getting larger

I guess they will have to lift that ban on Blatter, as FIFA need someone like him to lead them through these difficult times.

I don't see the problem with buying a vote, I know it's wrong but if it was up to me I wouldn't give a shit where it was (unless I could potentially get tickets)

I think that Sepp is not so bothered about the money, he's all about the power. This could be why it's taking so long to get him.

He's had no need to directly take bribes himself as he's been able to run FIFA like his private kingdom. He'll have fixed his own salary and won't have had to pay for any of his own travel, hotels etc all legally. The question is, can it be proved that he facilitated or knew about the rampant corruption of others involving FIFA funds?

That is a truly outrageous position. He's asking people to get behind corruption and "awww it'll be ok..." How many investments does this halfwit have in Doha? We all excuse him for being a bit of a thick t**t but he really should stick to selling undercrackers and having tattoo's.

If he is prepared to put his name behind a bent successful bid, how clean was our bid that HE BACKED?

He had absolutely no reason to come out with a statement like that, particularly as he had been part of a team that had been so clearly dicked by FIFA during the 2018 England bid. I can't imagine that David Beckham is corrupt per se...but you can almost guarantee that the parasitic financial super-advisors who cling to anyone with his sort of dosh will automatically be sailing very close to the wind. I suppose it's just how the super rich world is these days....

I suppose it's just how the super rich world is these days.... I don't believe he or the FA did anything underhand in the bidding, at least I hope not. There are plenty who would like to sling mud at our FA from around the football world and comments like these give them the ammunition. The English ambassador of the FA bid says that it is OK to support a bid that 'Whether it's corrupt or not, those countries have been chosen. People need to get behind that '. So the anger shown by the English FA at the bidding process is all for show as an excuse to hide behind their failed bid. You can see this one coming when the shit really starts flying and the argument about moving one or both finals hots up.
