it depends. the hearings are before christmas and if he's cleared then they will carry out his "integrity check" and could still stand. all depends on how long the hearings take really Integrity check. Ferfuxache.... gotta love it haven't you? an "integrity check" being carried out by a body who are still led by a man who's on trial and being investigated by the FBI for corruption

BREAKING: FIFA Appeal Committee rejects appeals lodged by Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini against provisional bans
As they are six month bans and the presidential election for Blatter's replacement is on February 26th, does this now mean that Platini cannot actually stand as a candidate?
Says hereBoth can continue fighting their bans at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, and Platini's lawyers have indicated he will do so, but in the meantime the UEFA boss Platini is still currently barred from competing in February's FIFA presidential election.
The Frenchman is one of six declared challengers for the presidency, and a statement from his lawyers on Wednesday confirmed his appeal to CAS while accusing FIFA of "organising a deliberate and inadmissible strategy to delay Michel Platini's campaign".

Or where it came from don't be nasty, he's as honest as the day is long (as long as that day is in Alaska...in the winter ) "On January 25, 2012, when Marin was vice president of CBF, during the medal ceremony of the Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior, won by Corinthians, at Estádio do Pacaembu, he surreptitiously put in his pocket one of the gold medals that he was supposed to hand over to Corinthians players, as a result of which, goalkeeper Matheus Caldeira was left without a medal."

There was a bod on Talksport on Monday, forget his name I think it was Andrew something, who says this should all be dealt with before Christmas and his source believes that the two of them are looking at 6 or 7 year bans from football.

FIFA needs to be stripped down and rebuilt as the whole organization is corrupt from top to bottom, it's completely rotten. As for the Qatar world cup, that simply has to be taken away from them. We're not simply talking about a country not fit or suitable to host the competition, the problems are overwhelming. You've got fact that they don't have the stadiums or city's to host a world cup, and to produce that will cost hundreds of lives - can that be considered ethical ? Then, you've got the filthy dirty money they bunged FIFA and Blatter in particular to get the 2022 competition - again, is it ethical or indeed fair to allow the competition to go ahead with that information being public knowledge ? And then, more importantly, there's the strong suspicion...or likely hood that QATAR fund terrorism, ISIS in fact. Can that possibly be acceptable, the hundreds of thousands of football fans expected to attend matches there ? Mind you, who would ? Is it even safe ? As someone else said, I won't watch it and I would imagine before long a few nations may even decide to pull out of the Qatar world cup completely.

Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini should face Fifa sanctions - panel Fifa president Sepp Blatter and vice-president Michel Platini should face sanctions from football's world governing body, says the panel investigating corruption allegations.
The investigatory chamber of Fifa's ethics committee has sent its findings to the adjudicatory chamber chairman.

www.express.co.uk/sport/football/621156/Sepp-Blatter-godfather-channel-5-documentary-Fifa-honorary-president-ban"Sepp Blatter set for new Fifa role despite prospect of lenghty ban SEPP BLATTER is in line to become a "godfather" figure within FIFA despite the prospect of a lengthy ban from the game hanging over his head. Klaus Stöhlker, his official advisor during his successful presidential campaign last year, said Blatter could be given the title of honorary president of international football's governing body after next February's elections to find his successor. Speaking exclusively in Channel 5 documentary Sepp Blatter Exposed: The Fall of FIFA, airing on Monday at 9pm, Stöhlker said he believes Blatter would accept the role. He said: "I think the possibility is still in discussion - it's depending on the structure which follows the FIFA presidential election next year. I think as an honorary president you are something like a godfather, but he's clever enough and intelligent enough to let his follower go ahead and run FIFA." Fact is they are all implicated so as Britvicorange says uless you clear the whole lot out..... That's not going to happen with France and Germany heavily implicated.

What’s the end game?
Is it possible FIFA could ‘go’ & be replaced by a new entity?
More likely is that Blatter will go (& end up in prison?) & many more will go but at some point other (guilty) people end up taking it on.

I think Sepp is also a bit worried about that possibility, which is why he is playing up this "near death" experience so that he can play the "Ernest Saunders" defence should (what he considers) the worst comes to pass. Whatever the final outcome, I think there is more chance of me winning The Lottery than there is of Blatter spending a day behind bars.

SIGNIFICANT ANNIVERSARY 5 years ago today in their wisdom they voted for Russia and Qatar to host the next World Cups. What a good idea. & I bet every day since they've realised that they went too far this time. The gravy train full of brown envelopes could have rumbled on for years if they'd just been sensible and given WC to someone other than Qater, whose envelopes were just slightly less bulging, but the greedy corrupt w*****s were like pigs at a trough, unable to show restraint and have got their just desserts.
