Last long run done & its Berlin now for the final marathon hurrah London the week after for cheerleading....although I heard yesterday the RMT are considering strike action that weekend. I know its for another thread but not that weekend please! Did 15 miles on Sunday, 8-10 this coming Sunday and that's it. My train on the Friday is already greyed out on the Avanti website as possible cancellation and Saturday is strike day

Tapering now for the Nottingham Half on Sunday. Did 1.57 last week. Last 2 five milers have been averaging 8.30 so hoping for around 1.55 really. It’s a bit hilly so doubt I’ll get close to the very flat 1.50 at the Prestwold Half in February.

My train has been cancelled for London, and the next one I'd booked for my lad who is returning home before. You can use another train but lost seat reservations, bit of a bugger as I'd booked first class on the way down, it was a good price when I booked it early July. May cancel completely and get my money back, drive down to Stevenage and leave the car in the office car park for the weekend.

Back from Berlin guys......5:22. Yes its my slowest & last marathon, but longest training run (not runs!) was an 16 mile effort, so to get to 18 on the day & then just fast walk the rest was good enough for me, as was to be part of a record breaking marathon too. Definite my last one & I wont change that now as I generally struggle post marathon with that void of not having training, and I usually beat myself up terrible with hours of scrutiny of what went wrong & why.
Great really that its a weight lifted from my shoulders. Amazing marathon for anyone to do & it is a very fast flat course. Expo & set up in general is great, as was Breakfast Run at the old airport on Saturday. Just thousands doing what they want once wise, with breakfast after.
Great memories & great new friends made. Thats what running is/should always be about

I'm hoping for 3.45 if possible (if not greater than 4 hrs) 3.52 so just missed out, had a crappy head cold this week, was a bit rough with hot head flushes last night so can't complain at the time, that sunshine wasn't helpful either. A few people not in a good way those last few miles, hope they are all OK, my friend from Rode Heath saw the one in the underpass getting CPR.

Was on course for 3.45 after 16 miles but fell a part a bit for the last 10, not fit enough (plus my knee is knackered). Yes saw lots of people walking and getting treatment. The event was fantastic, the crowd superb!!!

Still a good effort, my friend who I trained with and was sub 4 at Manchester in the spring came in at 4.28, he said the same as you, just lost it about mile 16 and had nothing left.
