Worksop Half yesterday in 1:56. Absolutely pissed it down nearly all the way round. Started off too fast - 5K in just over 25 minutes and 10K in about 52 minutes. Totally ran out of steam in the last 4 miles though. Still, that's the last 5 or 6 half marathons that I've gone below 2 hours so I'm happy with that. (I tried to get below 2 hours a few years ago and failed. If you want something doing properly then do it yerself...)

Aim for sub 1:50 now mate Thats my aim next year I’m not a runner. I’m a cyclist who does a bit. In January my NY res was to run at least a mile every day for a month. I admit I did not start from scratch but nothing substantial By end of January I did a 1:52 half. Kept it mixture of 5 and 10kms. Banged a ten miler out at beginning of March enabling a 1:40:42 half in March. Kept the streak up to 19th March All I’m doing now is a 3.5 miler Tues, wed, thur in work to keep some fitness up. I want to do a sub 45 10km and sub 1:40 half next year

Well done mate, part of the 1% club now! Had a bit of a bad day at the office, but managed to get round in one piece. Time to start looking for me next challenge after a week of recovering, eating and drinking 😁 Well done too, mate. Having done one, I'm now keen to do some more - not too fussed about London (even if I could get through the ballot), but next year I would definitely consider the Yorkshire one again, and / or Liverpool, although they are unfortunately probably too close together for me. If they run the Hull marathon again next year in September, would maybe do that and then Yorkshire or Liverpool in October. What's the Manchester marathon like, Northy or anyone else? It's OK, a good one for a faster time, they've changed the route a bit this time, a bit more in te city centre at the start, and then through Altrincham where there is a short incline from the station area up to the market hall area, but you go back down again, I'm probably going to do it again in April next year, I enter a new age group soon and was only 5 minutes outside a Boston marathon qualifying time for that group and was 10 minutes slower than my previous 2 in 2019, so a good winter of training hopefully, I offered the Mrs a long weekend in Paris for that marathon, she said no, but wants to go when there isn't a marathon on

Managed my way around the Meerbrook 15K yesterday allegedly the third hilliest race in the country. It's a comfortably higher elevation than the Conwy Half where I was in support mode today.

Just a quick 5 miles this morning but what a day to be out running. A slight, dry frost under a clear sky, a chilly breeze and the odd ribbon of snow left on distant hills. Caught a beautiful sunrise and had a couple of Red Kites circling nearby.

Takes 4 to 6 weeks to get back after you've had a couple of weeks off providing there's nothing lingering. My average half rate was 154 today which I'm also pleased with because it's been a lot higher this last few weeks

Mine was post-vaccine and I’ve gone from 300-350km a month to just building up to 30km a week. 3 months and counting. Heart rate wouldn’t regulate, resting heart rate up 20%.
