A local 20 mile race in a couple of weeks Had a bad time there last year, running it as training for London myself. Hoping for a nice consistent pace and no wall! No wall this year for you just biblical floods time three

Hang in there another few weeks. What are you training for? A local 20 mile race in a couple of weeks which one, is it Stafford?

Fenton Manor to Westbridge Park in Stone and back via the canal this morning through torrents of standing water along most of the route. Wind as well as torrential rain on the way out there but just over 17 miles in around 2:20. Really happy with that could have carried on but a warm shower was far more inviting

Managed a slow-paced 7.8km this lunchtime to get some distance in my legs. Kept egging myself on to not walk after 5km or so, as I was definitely feeling it. I managed to tell myself to keep running to the next object further ahead - ended up getting all the way around which I'm quite happy with. My legs are like jelly.
Will definitely take your advice felonious and seek out a running club near me.

Don't let Felonious be too biased towards those in green 😉😉 Only kidding, all the local clubs are friendly and supportive, get yourself down there!

10k run tonight. Stayed reasonably local (Biddulph) as conditions weren't great. Got caught in a downpour of rain/sleet.
Reasonably hilly too, so not the easiest run, but glad to get it in after a few days off (last run was Thursday).
That's 200km done for 2020 now. Set myself a goal to get at least 1000km in the bag.
Stafford half is 2 weeks on Sunday.

It's an NTC weekly session, I did 6 months of it some years back to improve speed. My individual warm up is 4 laps of the track with a few stretches then the session begins with a dynamic warm up on the track for about 20 minutes. Running with heel kicks, knee raises, alternate legs, 4 sprints, etc. The warm down is a series of stretches covering everything from the heel and ankle up to the head and neck. Always been impressed with them.... yet another really decent club

18 miles with 8 at marathon pace.
Probably a bit quick on warm up and cool down too, but wanted to test myself for next week at Knighton.

steady half marathon distance this morning, seemed to run westwards for 5 miles with the wind in my face, then it was side on, and the turn for home in my face again. Nice to be out in mostly sunshine, 1 quick hail/snow shower and that was it.

Sunday long run ready for Stafford half in 2 weeks...15 miles at 9.02 pace. More than happy Now onto Stafford I'm planning a final long run this week in preparation for Stafford (my first half). I've done a few 10 milers so far and one 11 mile run. I will probably go for an 11 miler again. Possibly push it to 20k if I have time and I feel good. I've decided to save the full distance for the day. Whether that's wise or not, time will tell..... Target is 1hr 55.
