Right or wrong decision it is done and dusted! Lets look forward to the chance of a new future at Stoke City. I am sure that there will be investment in the correct candidate. Who ever it is I'm sure there will be some detractors but it wil I think draw an end to this bitter civil war that has been going on for two or three seasons. Just think what we can now a hive when we are all unified behind the new manager. I shall purchase my season ticket tomorrow. Who else will be doing this?

It may be more entertaining than last season, but it could also be relegation Alternatively, it could be even less entertaining and top half finish? Or, very entertaining and top half? or, less entertaining and relegation? More importantly, since we don't know, I can actually start looking forward to next season, rather than dreading it!

I agree that its hard to predict what will happen next year especially since a replacement hasn't been announced but its impossible that it will be less entertaining.

Despite the rumours, I hadn't seen this coming!
Thank you for everything you have done for my beloved football Club TP - or should I say "our beloved football Club"? 'cause I'm sure you feel a great sense of belonging to Stoke City! Thanks for putting us back on the map.
And to all fans; Please could we let the war end here? Support the new manager, whoever the board choose?

First of all, thanks for everything tony and you can leave with your head held high enjoy your future and good luck
Secondly at this moment in time, there is not really one manager that stands out except benitez but whether that will happen who knows? Everyone has a different opinion on who should take over, some people want RDM some don't and then the same with Martinez and poyet, not every ones going to agree on one person. These could be very exciting times for stoke city, solid ownership, academy investment is good, we have a good playing squad, so let's get behind the new players and management and make this a new great period for stoke city

I am so happy about this news. We need to improve our signings (no over the hill ex internationals) and playing style. This wasn't going to happen under Pulis.
Did a great job to get us to prem and get mid table, but he reached the limit of his talent 2-3 years ago and probably should've gone then.

Disgusted with what has happened. Having followed TP since his Gillingham days, we have sacked arguably the greatest manager the club has ever had with the club in it's strongest position both on and off the pitch.
Absolute madness and the 'empty vessels' as TP called them have got their way with unfortunately Coates listening to the negative media rubbish, much of it from former Pros who are failed manager wannabes.
Although I hated the woman, as John Selwyn Gummer said after they had bundled Thatcher out - 'you woke up the next morning and thought oh my God what have we done' ?

The fustrations of the Pulis era were not fantasy the bloke had no intention of doing anything other than buying ready made footballers and trying to smash them into his ultra rigid system, with very little focus on long term viability.

OK. But if the new man has a positive impact, we get similar results but with more goals and entertainment, shall we remember who the TP Rimmers were? Is it a deal?

Just never renewed his contract. Probably best all round as there are a number of areas that Tone wasn't able to manage....transfers and youth team to name but two. Anyway, All the best Tone and Thanks for everything you've helped the club to achieve.

I personally am devo pulis has gone. For me, his first game in his second spell was the beginning of my love and obsession with stoke city... I have only ever known pulis as the manager, and i honestly believe by letting him go, we have lost our safetly net and regular premier league seasons. Ok the games became frustrating, and yes there was nothing worse than sitting back on 1-0 leads. But in my opinion, the direct style is far superior to tippy tappy crap and always will be. As he always said, why make 20 passes to score when you can do it in 3. When it worked, it worked perfect and not even the best teams could handle us. We are struggling due to the lack of quality wingers and fullbacks, not because of pulis' style n tactics. No one will score the goals we need if they don't get service. Im afraid now Key players like begovic, huth, shawcross, nzonzi,.... The spine of the team will now be more open to leaving.. For me, it would only cushion the blow of letting pulis go if we got rafa. Anyone else and I'm worried. If we did get rafa, then maybe the bigger players would want to stay and play for him n 'progress' with the club.... But realistically where else can stoke go apart from premier league survival and top 10 finishes ?? To break into that top 7 is highly unlikely, n if we did, maybe it would be for a one off season n not a regular thing.... Fingers crossed to the future. Pulis, I salut you and will always hold a place in my heart for you and the special days you have given me. I will miss your mad line side rants and cheers. I wish you all the best ( as Wales manager ) and not as a competitor Good luck

i think the major issue as far as PC is concerned is the season tickets, funny how no figures have been released, normally they are shouting them from the roof tops, we will now see PC's ambition with the next appointment, there is only one outstanding candidate, any of the others and we may as well have bided our time.

Etheringtons comments are a bit daft, as I don't think fans views have really played much of a part. The club have done this because of a change of course they decided on.

Key players IMO are more likely to stay if we bring in a respected manager to freshen things up. Rafa? No chance. Top 10 is achievable. Top 7 also as part of a 5 year project that includes developing our youth setup and increasing attendances (capacity). Good luck Pulis.
