Our goal difference is better than Sunderland's now. Pretty sure we should be ok

WTF are you going on about. It just keeps more teams below us, they can all win there games & you are are forgetting our goal diff which is an extra point against most and betting on us losing every game between now and the end of the season. Its all very long shot stuff. I'd rather Villa be 6 points below us, with a worse goal difference and three games against Norwich, Chelsea and Wigan than 3 points behind us and us having a smarting Sunderland away with them only 3 points behind us and a marginal goal difference. I really fear a Wigan upturn against two sides who are on holiday in West Brom and Swansea. Sunderland have two easy home games against us and Soton. They could be out of sight by the time we go to Saints on the final day. There is one last sting in this tail. I think this makes a lot of sense, I can't believe people thought Villa winning was the best result for us. If we don't get anything against Sunderland or Spurs and Wigan get results against W. Brom and Swansea, then I 'spose there's now a chance that we could go into the last day not knowing if we're absolutely safe.

Exactly how is it an easy home game against us based on this performance and our last two by any chance Two away wins all season and a manager who is scared of his own shadow?

Wigan need 8 points from 12 to catch us up, with an away game away against champions league hunting Arsenal among them. They look increasingly likely to drop. Sunderland are utterly demoralised after this, great time to go there and sneak a win, their defence was awful tonight. Newcastle or Wigan to drop for me.. Wigan more than likely.

I really fear Wigan. The FA Cup final galvanised us two years ago. I'll be surprised if they don't get 6 from the next two.

Possibly even Blunderland as well.

And we all have compeletely denied the fact that Wigan just might get something against Arsenal too. Norwich almost did.

It's a good job spurs scored that late goal at the weekend else it would be seriously interesting.
Before 2004 over 40 was regularly needed. Would definitely have been the same this year, now 40 may just be enough.

Oh well, we'll have to see if Tone really can talk the old talk. I'm not at all convinced about us in spite of two wins...in fact we may have had a bit of the luck that he bangs on about...let's hope the luck's still with us for the rest of the season. I've got a horrible feeling we may need it

I bet there's a few mackems that strutted into work this morning and gave their rival Geordie fans some merciless abuse for the 6-0 defeat to liverpool. They wont be looking forward to work in the morning.
