A Villa win.
Because: 1) Sunderland wouldn't go above us tonight. 2) It would pull up the safety ladder from Wigan a bit more. 3) It would burst the won-two-on-the-bounce Di Canio bubble just before we play them. 4) It wouldn't change the league standings. 5) Villa are a great Midlands club. 6) Wigan have to play 4 games (3 away) in 10 days including Citeh at Wembley and Arse away..... see ya.... ![(bye)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/sxlha3OWhqFVd36WaQ0c.gif)
And a draw is boring ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/KYqg3pYeaerc5lD_P7BR.gif)
Love it

A 6-0 villa win, would keep us our 3 point margin and give us a better goal difference than Sunderland . I just can't see villa AND Wigan both going on runs that would have them surpass 39points. Damaging the di canio affect would do us no harm either ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/KYqg3pYeaerc5lD_P7BR.gif) I'll settle for the current scoreline though

2 wins and 2 draws for Wigan will still not be enough to overtake us so dunna worry. Also the Sunderland board makes interesting reading at the minute.

even if Wigan did, I'm certain one of Newcastle, Norwich or Villa won't get the results to overhaul us even if we lost all 3 (which I don't think we will)

It just keeps more teams below us, they can all win there games & you are are forgetting our goal diff which is an extra point against most and betting on us losing every game between now and the end of the season. Its all very long shot stuff.

Just seen the score... Well well well. Hopefully the wheels have come off Sunderland wagon and we can pick up a result...

Their last 2 wins were against Wolves and Blackburn.... Even we beat them both home and away. Their form since Xmas is not much better than ours. They may survive, but it won't be at our expense.

Wigan more than have it in them to beat West brom and Swansea
With them playing villa last game a Villa defeat would have clearly been the best result for us. I think we may well need another point to avoid squeaky bum at Soton.

It really does show though just how important those 2 wins have been though.

Its all very long shot stuff. I'd rather Villa be 6 points below us, with a worse goal difference and three games against Norwich, Chelsea and Wigan than 3 points behind us and us having a smarting Sunderland away with them only 3 points behind us and a marginal goal difference. I really fear a Wigan upturn against two sides who are on holiday in West Brom and Swansea. Sunderland have two easy home games against us and Soton. They could be out of sight by the time we go to Saints on the final day. There is one last sting in this tail.

We can get something up there.

we should still make it on goal difference, but it will be tight. Dont talk garbage, where are wigans points coming from exactly, i watched the albion at soton, they're dangerous and will win against wigan. Game over then.

Exactly how is it an easy home game against us based on this performance and our last two by any chance

If we don't make a decent fist of twatting sunderland next week, we don't deserve to be here! Villa are a credit to the cause.....we should learn a lesson or two!
