Unless i've missed it he hasnt, which to me points to an exit. It's not really a good thing to do with the season virtually over. If we don't get an announcement next week then it's time to be worried and confused!

They have already said that the season will be reviewed after the season's close - don't know the date but they do the same every close season

God only knows, JSU.
I find it pretty implausible that the main protagonists don't know which way the wind is blowing.
The idea that everything is on hold pending some 'routine' end-of-season debrief seems ridiculous with all the leaks and the ongoing deafening silence from Coates to confirm he'll be manager next season.
Noe we're safe, I was fully expecting a confirmation he was going or staying this week.
Why wait?

Ha! That's true, lord.
If possible, you'd think Coates would like the image of 3000 Stokies applauding him off into the sunset on Sunday to be the defining image of his departure (then again, 27500 applauding him off live on national TV v Spurs would've been even better if we wanted to go down that avenue?)
If the announcement isn't made before Southampton, and the chance of framing the exit in that way is missed, I'm going to have to believe he's likely to stay.
I can't see PC being happy with the idea of TP slinking off quietly in mid-May. Smells too much of a 'sacking'.
That said, maybe TP doesn't want to go and will not allow it to be framed as a 'mutual' thing - thus we're waiting until the summer to (reluctantly) bring down the axe?

Just that he didn't buy the 'scouting in Spain' line as the reason for his non-attendance at the Player of the Year awards last night. Rob Dorsett twitter-Rob. Do you buy this TP being in Spain line for his absence tonight? -Nope.

Publicly maybe, Doz.
I just find it utterly implausible that Pulis and Coates don't know the lie of the land.
Must make things very strange on their regular dinner dates. Talk about an elephant in the room. It's just inconceivable, isn't it?

But then again, maybe TP doesn't want this grand send-off. We know he's not a fan of adulation...even after a win he's sprinting straight for the tunnel. This, and the fact he's pissed off with the support might well mean he's turned down FM's Spurs/Soton scenario and would rather 'go quietly' whatever Coates' wishes?

Dorsett's comments are new to me and suggest some sort of serious breakdown in relations of sorts, whether it be Pulis and Coates or Pulis and the players or whatever. Lying about being in another country if that's what has happened is seriously fucked up!

Possibly, Chris.
I can just about see that.
But it'd certainly make him look better if he was seen to depart with the applause of 3000 Stoke fans echoing around as he marched towards them, rather than the perception being shaped by a cold, yellow breaking news ticker in mid-May talking about a 'mutually agreed departure'

Might be telling of the situation because of Dorsetts proximity to the club's goings on.

Solksjaer all the way for me Norwegian tableHaving a shocker of a start in Norway. To be honest, whoever we were to go for would split the support. I haven't come across one candidate who'd unite everyone from the off. But that's probably unavoidable. All candidates that clubs like us can get are unproven/slightly soiled goods in one way or another Yeah, he has started badly, but still destined to be a top manager.

Talk about an elephant in the room. It's just inconceivable, isn't it? It would be utterly beyond believe that the two men hadn't had a 'heart to heart' FM, I agree and I'm sure both of them know the direction things are moving in. I just don't think they've had that most awkward of 'final' discussions yet. As you say, it must be very uncomfortable for them both at the moment. I think they genuinely ARE friends and I particularly feel for Coates who probably feels he's in a no win situation. I know that's probably pretty soppy language when you consider what a sharp, hard-nosed business man Mr Coates is but I honestly think he's going to feel pretty bad if he lets Pulis go (not that it would stop him). Whatever happens, I hope it happens soon so that we can prepare properly for next season.

I do think Dorsett must know something, he'd be on a very sticky wicket if he didn't - he's essentially calling SCFC liars and you don't do that if you want to be around the club on deadline day this summer.

Unless and a big IF, its Rafa, and nothing is being said today to avoid interference/preparations for Chelseas Final tonight. Again, a big IF, perhaps if there is a meeting tomorrow, everything will become clear after that?

I am in agreement with your thoughts JSU. Whenever we did reorganisations the timing of the announcement was made to ensure it didn't interfere with production. It beggars belief that the issue will be sorted at a meeting yet to be held, views will have polarised by now and the meeting a confirmation. In football terms after the match, end of the season, would be the least disruptive. An astute businessman would wait until then to make an announcement with the summer break to allow it to blow over with the fans, staff etc. It also gives time to get things in place for the close season and a new appointment if that is the situation.
